This thread is resolved. Here is a description of the problem and solution.

Problem:
The client is experiencing issues when changing their website to Dutch. They encounter a weird black field at the top of the page and a different order compared to the English version.

Solution:
Regarding the formation issue with the "13 days" text, it appears there are additional

<br>

HTML tags added. We suggest checking the translated backend to remove these tags.
3. The language switcher issue is due to it being from another plugin, not WPML. The shortcode [gtranslate] indicates it's from a different language plugin.

This is the technical support forum for WPML - the multilingual WordPress plugin.

I am trying to: change everything into Dutch

I expected to see: The same order as in English

Instead, I got:

When I go to the Dutch website: hidden link

The website gets a weird black field above in the page and also the order is different, you will see it when you go to the website!

The website looks if you go to: hidden link very different then the English version: hidden link - also I am not able to see the NL version on the website, I can just visit it via the link

Hi!

No, this is not a chat.

Before one of my colleagues started handling the issue you are reporting, I took a brief look at the Dutch & English versions of the websites, and I could not spot any obvious differences; of course, I do not know the website as well as you do so that I might have missed something.

In general, please make sure that you:
- Meet all the minimum requirements for WordPress & WPML - https://wpml.org/home/minimum-requirements/
- Make sure that all the different elements of your webpage are translated > that will vary according to the theme and plugins you are using.

If you still need our help, please share more details about what differentiates between the EN & NL versions so we can help you and ensure that your website meets the minimum requirements. I am enabling the debug info box to see what's going on.

Hi Team,

Please check again. The website does look entirely different.

Please see the different between: hidden link
and to: hidden link

kind regards,

Hi Elise,

I checked your page and can see only two differences:

- The black background with the page name: This is the page title set in your theme options: hidden link. You can click on the language flag on the Backend via the top bar and open the translated language version to turn this option off.

- Formation issue on "13 days" text:

There are additional "br" HTML Tags added:

<span style="font-family: Poppins, sans-serif;font-size: 40px;font-style: normal;font-weight: 900"><br>
  <br>
    13 - dagen )<br>
  <br>
</span>

You can also check this on the translated Backend and see if you can remove the tags from there.

The language switcher on the top is not working, as it's not from WPML. It shows a shortcode from another plugin: [gtranslate].

Best Regards
Marcel
