This thread is resolved. Here is a description of the problem and solution.

Problem:
The client has imported new translated XLIFF files but is facing an: the pages do not appear translated in the backend despite being translated on the frontend.

Solution:
We explained that since the translations were imported using the WPML Classic Translation Editor, they would not be displayed in the Advanced Translation Editor as it runs on our server. To edit existing translations, the client should enable the Classic Translation Editor by navigating to WPML > Settings > Translation Editor > Enable Classic Translation Editor. For more information, refer to our documentation:
https://wpml.org/faq/why-arent-my-translations-showing/.

Hi
The translator sent us a new zip file with new translated xliff files. I imported them and got no error message this time.
I got '100 jobs imported' but after what should I do ?
the pages are not translated yet.

if I select all the lines and click on the "approove translations' I get the message : 'This action does not apply to any of the selected translation jobs'

thanks

Hi,

Here is the new ticket. The action approve translation only applied to the pending review jobs which are translated by automatic translation.

I checked some jobs in the list of files that you shared before and see they are translated as well.
For example: the job Atermes-translation-job-423.xliff, the field text of a history post hidden link is translated. Please check screenshots attached.

Please let me know which page is not translated after importing the XLIFF file and share the new translated XLIFF files. I will check them on my end.

Look forward to your reply.
Thanks

Hi
We reimport a new batch of translation xliff files and the import process went without errors.
However we are puzzled at the result.

here are some questions please :

1- hidden link is translated to hidden link and we see the texts are translated

however if I go hidden link to edit the translation of the "logiciel" job post all the translated fields are empty !

How can we have empty translations in backend while seeing the translations in front end ?
please check the attached screeshot

2- on hidden link you see images in a galery which don't appear in the translated version
this galery is made of a elementor carousel widget populated with a gallery field that we marked as translatable.

thanks for your help

cyril

why please?

Hi,

Using the XLIFF file to import the translation content, means you are using the WPML Classic Translation Editor to translate the content on your site, not on our server.
Because the translation is made on your site, it won't displayed when you open the Advanced Translation Editor, the editor runs on our server.

If you want to edit the existing translation, please go to WPML > Settings > Translation Editor > Enable Classic Translation Editor.

Refer to the documentation https://wpml.org/faq/why-arent-my-translations-showing/

We can handle one issue per ticket only so I will split this ticket to a new one for your second question about the gallery.

If you see the main issue of this ticket with importing XLIFF files is resolved, please mark it as Resolved.

Thanks.

ok thanks
When I went to WPML > Settings > Translation Editor , "Enable Classic Translation Editor." was already selected.

did you do it for me ?

anyway when I go to hidden link to edit the translation of the "logiciel" job post all the translated fields are now filled.

thanks

Hi,

Yes, I activated it on your site to fix the issue with the image gallery in another ticket. And please notice that, if you click on the translation icon "Pen", it will open the Classic Translation Editor which runs on your site, not on WPML.org site. So the URL isn't "hidden link", see the screenshot attached.

Thanks.
