I have an issue where changing the language in the WordPress admin panel also affects the language displayed on the website's frontend when using WPML, particularly for articles and custom post types 'team'. Specifically, when I change the language in the dashboard, it modifies the WP query used on the site to display the language I selected in the dashboard. Can you help me resolve this issue?
Thanks for the video. Please go to WPML-> Languages, and unhide English. After that, please clear your site's cache and check the issue while logged in and out.
I would need to look closely at your site, so I would need to request temporary access (WP-Admin and FTP)
– preferably to a test site where the problem has been replicated if possible –
in order to be of better help and check if some configurations need to be changed.
Your answer will be private, meaning only you and I can access it.
❌ Please backup your database and website ❌
✙ I would need your permission to de-activate and re-activate the Plugins and the Theme and change configurations on the site. This is also a reason the backup is critical.
✙ I also need your permission to take a local copy of your site to debug the issue without affecting your live site.
Thanks for the access details. Could you please try the following steps on the test site?
1- Delete all the translated field groups
2- Go to WPML-> Settings-> Post Type Translation section
3- Set the "Field Groups (acf-field-group)" post type to "Not Translatable"
4- Edit the field groups and select the translation mode, then save them (https://wpml.org/documentation/related-projects/translate-sites-built-with-acf/)
5- Edit a team post and update it
6- Update its translation
7- Clear the cache and check the issue
Please let me know the result of the above steps. I tried to create a local copy of your site to run this test, but I couldn't download it, and there isn't FTP access to grab it from the server.
We have followed the provided instructions; however, the issue persists. It's important to note that the problem doesn't seem to be related to the ACF fields. We have also identified the issue in the WordPress titles of the custom post 'team.
The issue seems to be caused by your loop function, which is the function that calls the posts and creates the grid.
Best regards,
