[Resolved] There is an issue with automatic translation that needs your attention. Fix it to continue.
This thread is resolved. Here is a description of the problem and solution.
Problem: You are trying to use the automatic translation feature in WPML for your website, but it fails to continue after initially working. Additionally, the 'fix it' pop-up disappears quickly without resolving the issue. Solution: The issue with the automatic translation not continuing might be due to the first invoice's safety feature that limits your credits. To resolve this, go to Pages and click the title of the page you want to translate as if to edit it. Then, click the cog icon next to the language you are translating to, for example, Spanish. At the top of this page, you should see a message about not having enough translation credits. Click this message, and it will direct you to a page where you can pay the $100 safety limit. After this payment, you should be able to continue translating with more credits. If this solution does not resolve your issue, we recommend checking related known issues at https://wpml.org/known-issues/, verifying the version of the permanent fix, and confirming that you have installed the latest versions of themes and plugins. If the problem persists, please open a new support ticket at WPML support forum for further assistance.
This is the technical support forum for WPML - the multilingual WordPress plugin.
Everyone can read, but only WPML clients can post here. WPML team is replying on the forum 6 days per week, 22 hours per day.
Background of the issue:
I am trying to automatically translate the content on the site hidden link using WPML. I have searched the forums and tried the solution of switching the settings between manual and automatic again.
Symptoms:
The automatic translation feature is not working. When I click 'fix it', the pop-up only shows up for 1 second and then disappears. The automatic translation tries to run but then fails. We have the 'paid as you go' credits set up, but it won't continue to translate the rest of the site. Initially, 145 translations did work.
Questions:
Why does the automatic translation fail to continue after initially working?
Why does the 'fix it' pop-up disappear quickly without resolving the issue?
Alright, I did the full clean up steps again. Found a post that hasn't been translated. Updated it, and then proceeded to the translation management section to get it translated. Ticked the post I edited, selected translate automatically and once again got the error message "You need credits to use automatic translation". Screenshot provided.
It looks like currently your Max available subscription limit is 195,000 which has been used. Please go oto WPML -> Translation Management -> Tools and click to change the limit. YOu should see a popup which says pay and continue, you click that enable button and complete the button so the limit is updated.
Please let me know if you need any further assistance and I will be happy to help.
I do not see "Change the Limit" under WPML -> Translation Management -> Tools. We are using pay as you go if that helps. We're under the assumption that this would automatically charge us for any new translations without having to worry about adding more credits as this is our preferred method.
Yes that is how Pay As You Go works, but there are limits implemented. You should have the option to increase the limit. Is it possible to share credentials so I can log in and take a look at the Tools tab? I have marked the next reply as private so that you can safely share credentials.
The reason the credits could not be increased is because this is the first invoice, and there is a safety feature built in. To resolve this, please go to Pages and click the title of "Hillsborough County Police Reports Accident Reports Online" as if to edit the page. Then, click the cog icon next to Spanish, to edit the Spanish translation. At the top, you will see a message about not having enough translation credits (screenshot attached). Click this, and it will bring you to a page where you can pay the $100 safety limit, and from there you should be able to continue translating with more credits.
If that doesn't work, let me know and I can continue troubleshooting. I tested it and was able to see the payment pop up after clicking that link.
