I am trying to:
We've been running into a couple of issues with the WPML translation these last couple of days. So basically we've been translating our entire website which is build with Toolset and the Astra theme. We are working with templates and forms. So far most of the elements were translated without any issues. Unfortunately on the "last mile" we are having some issues with our forms not showing up as translated even though they were all translated through the interface.

Link to a page where the issue can be seen:
hidden link (here it got partly translated - thanks to additional string translation even though the same strings were already translated via the WPML interface)
hidden link (even though toolset form is completely translated doesn't show up translated)

I expected to see:
All of my translated forms to appear as translated.

Instead, I got:
The english page but everything that is inside the form is not getting translated (see screenshot). Or if additional string translation was used then only partially translated. (see screenshot - text in square is still german (original language) while labels appear in english (translated language)).

Hi there,

Thanks for your contact.

We had some issues with the Toolset translation in the last month, but it should be already solved in the latest versions. I can see that you're using the updated WPML plugins, but the Toolset ones are still in their previous versions.

Therefore, in order to solve it, please go to Plugins -> Add New -> Commercial tab, and try to update the components from Toolset. If you can't see the latest versions available, try to click on the 'check updates' button, or download the versions directly from the downloads page: - https://toolset.com/account/downloads/

At last, please bear in mind that if you install WPML after creating your Toolset forms, you must resave the forms for them to appear on the WPML Translation Management page.

Looking forward to your reply. Thank you.

Kind regards,
Mateus.

Dear Mateus,

thank you for getting in touch. Unfortunately updating the toolset plugins did not resolve the issue. Even though the forms are translated in their entirety they still do not show up in their english version.

Looking forward hearing back from you.

Thank you,
Zoë

Hello Zoë,

Thanks for your reply.

Please try this:

- Go to one of your affected forms, and do a minor modification to the original language content
- Try to translate that form again and see if it'll work fine this time

If the problem remains, I would like to request temporary access (wp-admin and FTP) to your site to take a better look at the issue. You will find the needed fields for this below the comment area when you log in to leave your next reply. The information you will enter is private which means only you and I can see and have access to it.

Our Debugging Procedures

I will be checking various settings in the backend to see if the issue can be resolved. Although I won't be making changes that affect the live site, it is still good practice to backup the site before providing us access. In the event that we do need to debug the site further, I will duplicate the site and work in a separate, local development environment to avoid affecting the live site.

Privacy and Security Policy

We have strict policies regarding privacy and access to your information. Please see:
https://wpml.org/purchase/support-policy/privacy-and-security-when-providing-debug-information-for-support/

**IMPORTANT**

- Please make a backup of site files and database before providing us access.
- If you do not see the wp-admin/FTP fields this means your post & website login details will be made PUBLIC. DO NOT post your website details unless you see the required wp-admin/FTP fields. If you do not, please ask me to enable the private box. The private box looks like this: hidden link

Please, let me know if you need any additional details. Have a nice day.

Hi there,

Thank you for providing the credentials.

It seems that you need to wrap your Form texts in a [wpml-string] shortcode, in order to be able to translate it. These are the steps I've followed:

- Went to this form hidden link
- In the 'Form editor - Expert mode', I added a 'Fields and Views' -> WPML -> Translatable string, and inserted random values, just that the shortcode is added
- Then I copied and pasted the first heading and did the same for the next content (added one more 'Fields and Views WPML' shortcode, and pasted the text there)
- These created new entries in the WPML -> String Translation module: hidden link, but with the wrong language, as the screenshot shows
- To fix it, I have selected the strings and used the button 'change the language of selected strings', in order to make them as German
- Now please check that by translating these strings, their translation show just fine in the frontend: hidden link

I'm afraid you'll have to do this for any 'separate' text that you added through the 'expert mode'.

Please review out these steps and let us know if this could be a reasonable solution for you.

Thanks,
Mateus.
