Hope all is well 🙂 (I'm reopening a ticket here because I couldn't follow-up last time, apologies)
I'm having an issue with a translation that is not showing up.
Basically I have a gravity form where the user enters his zip code and then is redirects to another GF where the appropriate form is displayed. So the zip code form has several conditional confirmation and one if these confirmation is not translating correctly.

This already works well with all forms except the new one I just added.
Not sure what is going on as I've been using WPML for a while.
I have tried adding a blank space in the translation, checked if the string is well translated, deleted the translation and restarted but nothing seems to work

If you head to hidden link and then enter J5T you see its redirected to the correct form, but in FR it's not the case, we're lead to a generic form.

Also I notice on the image attached that the new translation show this "afficher les différences" or show difference between original and translation and I"m not sure why it's displaying this.

Hello!
Here's a recap of the issue :
Gravity Forms are translated with the classic editor + Gravity Forms Multilingual, from ENG to FR and vice-versa.
They have worked fine for years until we had to modify them or create new ones.

Newly added or modified fields and newly created forms are not translated in the frontend. In the backend, the correct information is entered and saved, but on the frontend, it still shows the previous content (for modified fields) or displays in the original langage instead of translation (for added fields or newly created forms).
I tried :
1- deleting package for a specific form and send it back to translation, reentering the whole translation again;
2- changing the form's title to force a translation update (then repeating #1 above)
3- going through the strings instead of the form translation. Adding a   or modifying the translation content so it is automatically saved again.
4- All above while constantly purging site cache after any changes
5- WPML and Gravity Forms related plugins are all updated
6- Problem occurs in both ENG to FR and FR to ENG translations

--

I have created a temporary environment with same theme and plugins and translations are working fine there. I can provide access to both instances.
What do you suggest as next steps?
Thanks for your time

Hi,

Thanks for contacting WPML forums support. I’ll be glad to help you today.

First of all, sorry for the late reply due to a higher workload. Could you please log in to this sandbox site? (hidden link)

After that, please try to replicate the issue by creating a test form and translating it. If the issue is replicable, please let me know how to reproduce it.

Thanks for your cooperation and patience

Regards,
Osama

Hey Osama!
Thanks for getting back to me.
I cloned the website on a test server and I wasn't able to reproduce the issue. All translations worked with and without the plugins (removed all of them one at a time).
I think the issue with the current build of the site where no translations seem to be working in regards to Gravity forms. I can provide access for you to go check. Thanks for your time 🙂

Hi,

Thanks for your update. Could you please Please check if the issue persists in a minimal environment by following these steps:

1- Deactivate all the plugins except these plugins. (hidden link)
2- Switch for a moment to a WordPress default theme like Twenty Twenty-one.
3- Deactivate any caching settings on your server.

If the issue is gone, activate one by one to see which one is causing an interaction issue.

❌ Please backup your database and website before performing the above test ❌

If the issue persists in the minimal installation, I would need to request temporary access (WP-Admin and FTP)
– preferably to a test site where the problem has been replicated if possible –
in order to be of better help and check if some configurations might need to be changed

Your next answer will be private, which means only you and I have access to it.

❌ Please backup your database and website ❌

✙ I would need your permission to deactivate and re-activate Plugins and the Theme and to change configurations on the site if needed. This is also a reason the backup is critical.

✙ I also need your permission to take a local copy of your site to debug the issue without affecting your live site.

Thanks for your cooperation

Regards,
Osama

Hi,

1) Thanks for the access details. Would it be possible to update all of your active plugins, the theme, and WordPress core?

Also, please update WPML plugins to the latest version. Kindly download them from here. (https://wpml.org/account/downloads/)

❌ Please backup your database before the update❌

This step is required to make sure that there are no versions conflict between the plugins. After that, please create a new form to test it.

If the issue persists, please let me know to take a local copy and check if I can replicate the issue.

2) There is another test that could be helpful. Please backup your live site database, then use your staging site database on your live site to check if there will be any different results.

Thanks for your cooperation and understanding.

Regards,
Osama

Hi Osame,
Just updated everything and issue still persists 🙁
Will do the DB test a bit later as I don't have the time today.
Please have a look and let me know what you think.
Thanks for your time.

Hi,

I've installed a local copy of your site, but I couldn't replicate the issue. The only difference I can spot between your live site and the local installation is the .htaccess file. Could you please use the default WordPress file, then resave the permalinks and check the issue? (https://wordpress.org/support/article/htaccess/)

Also, please let me know the result of the database test.

Thanks for your cooperation

Regards,
Osama
