[Closed] Translate independently not working.

I am trying to: Translate my page pages using the translate independently option.

I expected to see: Edit English page "Product" > [Translate this Document] Choose to Duplicate Korean Page > Edit Korean Duplicate > [On Korean Page] Choose Translate Independently > Overwrite with English Content > Content is copied > Update or Edit with Elementor to make the translation.

Instead, I got: Edit English page "Product" > [Translate this Document] Choose to Duplicate Korean Page > Edit Korean Duplicate (image 2)> [On Korean Page] Choose Translate Independently > Overwrite with English Content > The option loads forever (Image 1) > All I can do is Refresh > Either prompts again for Translate Independently (which creates a loop) or the content had been copied from English but, in that case, the translation in not independent anymore and even appears in WPML Translation as synced (image 4). Also looking back at the English page, the "(duplicate)" has disappeared (image 3).

I have had difficulties with the "Overwrite with English Content" option. It worked for the Home page but not for the product page. It get stuck most of the time though and I have to refresh.

I looked into: Overwrite with English Content and I understand now that I should not use it. Nevertheless, the result is the same and even after clicking on only "Translate Independently" the issue is still the same and the content is still synchronized.

Update: it is getting a bit weirder now. When create a page Duplicate for translation. In the duplicated page (lets say Korean), if I actually not press the "Translate Independently", the page does not synchronize and appear non-editable in the Translation page of WMPL. If I click "Translate Independently", it will actually synchronize and appeared as completed in WPML translation.

Now If it did not click on "Translate Independently", but on "Update", a pop up will prompt me that "You are updating a duplicate post. To not lose your changes... this post to be translated independently." Now If I click on "Ok", it will update and refresh and my page will actually be synchronized (why?). But if I click on "Cancel" the page will also update and refresh (weird) and the page will not be synchronized. I just do not understand what is going on.

What is synchronized for me? When it appears in the WPML Translation list as a completed item but maybe I am wrong...

thanks for contacting us.

1) Please open and add the following code in your wp-config.php file, right after the database information lines of code. This file is located in your websites root folder.

 /** Memory Limit */
define('WP_MEMORY_LIMIT', '256M');
define( 'WP_MAX_MEMORY_LIMIT', '512M' );

2) I am not sure I understand what is the issue here, can you please check next docs and make sure you are following next docs, and if the issue still happens if you can share a video of your steps and what goes wrong so I can understand it better.

As you explained here: If I click "Translate Independently", it will synchronize and appear as completed in WPML translation.

sounds to me like correct behavior. You need to click "Translate Independently" and then edit and save the page after you have duplicated it from the default language page.
