This thread is resolved. Here is a description of the problem and solution.

Problem:
The client is using the Testimonial Showcase plugin and is unable to see the original Dutch text when trying to translate testimonials using WPML. The issue does not occur with regular pages or posts.
Solution:
1. We recommend using the String Translation module of WPML to translate the testimonials. For guidance on how to use this module, please visit String Translation documentation.
2. If the issue persists, it may be necessary to provide temporary access (WP-Admin and FTP) to a test site where the problem has been replicated so we can further investigate and make necessary configuration changes. Before providing access, ensure to back up your site using a plugin like UpdraftPlus, available at UpdraftPlus plugin.

If this solution does not resolve your issue or seems outdated, we highly recommend checking related known issues at known issues, verifying the version of the permanent fix, and confirming that you have installed the latest versions of themes and plugins. If the problem persists, please do not hesitate to open a new support ticket for further assistance at WPML support forum.

Background of the issue:
I am using the Testimonial Showcase plugin on my site hidden link and am trying to translate testimonials using WPML. I have checked the memory limit, which is 500MB, and ensured that the plugin is set to be translated in Settings/Translation of post types.

Symptoms:
When I open a testimonial, I see the icons for translating, but when I click on them, I only see the name and cannot see the original Dutch text, so nothing can be translated. There is no problem with regular pages or posts.

Questions:
How can I solve the problem of not being able to see the original Dutch text in testimonials for translation?

Thanks for contacting us. Based on the screenshot that you've provided, it looks like you're trying to display the testimonials using some custom modules from a 3rd party plugin. Please try translating the testimonials using the String Translation https://wpml.org/documentation/getting-started-guide/string-translation/ .

If it doesn't work, I will need to closely examine your website. Therefore, I will require temporary access (WP-Admin and FTP) to a test site where the problem has been replicated, if possible. This will enable me to provide better assistance and determine if any configurations need to be modified.

Please note that it is important to have a backup for security purposes and to prevent any potential data loss. You can use the UpdraftPlus plugin (https://wordpress.org/plugins/updraftplus/) to fulfill your backup requirements.

Your upcoming reply will be treated with confidentiality and will only be visible to you and me.

✙ To resolve the issue, I may need your consent to deactivate and reactivate plugins and the theme, as well as make configuration changes on the site if necessary. This emphasizes the significance of having a backup.

Thanks for your reply. In the custom field options, I've enabled the translation for the testimonial contents as shown in the attached screenshot. Now you can translate it without issues.

Sorry for the silly question, but where exactly did you do this? You mention custom field options. Is this on every testimonial page? I don't see the option on the live site to translate it. Can you tell me where I need to make the change?

Thanks

Thanks for your reply. I've already done it for you, and there is no need to enable that option again.

You can locate this custom field option in WPML > Settings > Custom Fields Translation

Ok, the link for "the system fields"! I completely overlooked that, which is why I didn't see the option “_aditional_info_short_testimonial” to translate it as well.
That's something I won't forget again. Everything is now back in order and the testimonials can be translated.

Kor, thank you very much for your time and advice on this matter.

Kind regards,
