This thread is resolved. Here is a description of the problem and solution.

Problem:
The client is experiencing an issue where ACF fields are displayed in English on both the Arabic and English versions of the product page. Additionally, when switching to English, the fields are shown in Arabic instead of the translated English.

Solution:
We found that the language settings in the user's profile determine the language displayed in the backend, which includes ACF fields. To have ACF field labels appear in Arabic, the client needs to select the 'Set admin language as editing language' option under 'Users > Profile'. When this option is activated and Arabic is chosen as the language, the editor and all its elements will display in Arabic. This is the standard behavior in WordPress for displaying content in the backend.

If you're experiencing this issue, we recommend you try the following steps:
1. Go to 'Users > Profile' in your WordPress dashboard.
2. Look for the 'Set admin language as editing language' option.
3. Activate this option and select Arabic as the language.

This should ensure that the ACF field labels are displayed in the correct language in the backend. If this solution does not apply to your case, or if it's outdated, we highly recommend checking related known issues, verifying the version of the permanent fix, and confirming that you have installed the latest versions of themes and plugins.

Hi

Default language is Arabic , second language is English.
Translated the fields to English in String Translation.

1- In Product page the ACF fields are displayed in English for both Languages. The Arabic does not show in Arabic version of the Product Page. See attachment

2- In ACF switching to English shows the fields again in Arabic not the translated English. Sea Attachment

Hi There,
Thanks for contacting WPML Support.

I see what you're looking for. Please note that the language of the editor depends on the language set for your profile. If English is set as the profile language, then all content within the editor will appear in English. If you want the language of the editor to update based on the selected language, you can do the following:

1. Navigate to "Users > Profile" from your WordPress Dashboard.
2. Under "WPML language settings," select the `Set admin language as editing language.` option and save your changes.
3. Now, open the page in the Arabic language. If you have already translated the field label via String Translation or created the field in Arabic, the fields will appear in Arabic.

If you have translated the ACF field group title and labels using String Translation, they should appear translated after making the adjustments mentioned above.

Let me know how it goes. I will be happy to help if you need further assistance in this matter.

Best regards,
Prosenjit

My issue is that , my profile language is English and I want to keep it English. However if the editor language changed to Arabic, the categories, brands all show in Arabic except the ACF fields

Why the Acf are not showing the Arabic as well.

Hi There,
Thank you for clarifying the issue.

The field label will only be displayed in the translated in the backend if it has been translated in String translation. Could you please try the following steps?

- Go to "WPML > String Translation"
- Search for the Field label that you want to see translated
- If that appears in the result, make sure that the Label has been translated. If they are not translated, you'll see a "+" icon under the language flag. Click on that and add the translation.

I've tested this in my development environment and it works well. I hope it will also resolve your issue.

Please let me know the update. I will be happy to help if you need further assistance in this matter.

Best regards,
Prosenjit

Hi There,
I hope you're doing well. Sorry for the delay in responding due to the weekend.

Thank you for the update. As the issue persists, a closer inspection will be required to understand the root cause of the issue.

I would like to request temporary access (wp-admin and FTP) to your site to take a better look at the issue. It would be better to have a testing site where the issue is replicated.

You will find the needed fields below the comment area when you log in to leave your next reply. The information you will enter is private which means only you and I can see and have access to it.

Maybe I'll need to replicate your site locally. For this, I’ll need to temporarily install a plugin called “Duplicator” or "All in One WP Migration" on your site. This will allow me to create a copy of your site and your content. Once the problem is resolved I will delete the local site. Let me know if this is ok with you.

IMPORTANT
-Please backup site files and database before providing us access.
-If you do not see the wp-admin/FTP fields this means your post & website login details will be made PUBLIC. DO NOT post your website details unless you see the required wp-admin/FTP fields. If you do not, please ask me to enable the private box. The private box looks like this:

Looking forward to your response.

Prosenjit

Hello There,
Thank you for sharing the access information.

I've looked into the issue and included my explanation below:

In WordPress, the language settings in your user profile determine the language displayed in the backend, including elements like menus, post types, and other editor elements. ACF fields, which appear in the backend, are also an editor element. For that reason, since the default language for the profile is set to "English", the ACF field labels are also displayed in English.

However, taxonomies—like categories, tags, or custom taxonomies—that appear in the sidebar function differently. These taxonomies are dynamically loaded within the editor and are not classified as interface elements. WPML has translation capabilities for these elements. It automatically recognizes taxonomies and adjusts them to reflect the language currently selected in the language switcher, which is located at the top bar of the admin panel (Screenshot: hidden link). This ensures that the taxonomies are displayed in the appropriate language directly in the editor.

To have the ACF field labels appear in Arabic, you need to select the `Set admin language as editing language` option found under "Users > Profile." When this option is activated and Arabic is chosen as the language, the editor and all its elements will be displayed in Arabic. This is the standard behavior in WordPress for displaying content in the backend. We need to adjust our settings accordingly to ensure everything appears in the desired language.

I hope this clarification helps. If there is anything else you'd like to share or need further clarification in this matter, please let me know. I will be happy to help.

Best regards,
Prosenjit
