I am trying to complete a translation item from the translation queue of a page. But after filling out everything to 100% and clicking complete it still remains in the queue with status "needs translation". I am also sometimes unable to edit translations from the overview (see screenshot) because they get stuck in a refresh state and are not editable anymore. I assume these issues are related since they started happening at the same time.

Hi there,

Thank you for contacting WPML support. While you are waiting for one of my colleagues to take this ticket and work on it, let me provide you with the first debugging steps or if I can help with the issue quickly.

Could you please take a look at this FAQ item? It might be helpful in resolving any issues with translation jobs on your website. Here's the link: https://wpml.org/faq/translation-status-stuck-or-displaying-the-error-wpml-didnt-manage-to-translate-this-page/.

If the issue is still there, please go to WPML → Support → Advanced Translation Editor → Error logs and share a screenshot of that page.

Looking forward to hearing back from you.

I followed the linked FAQ item but wasn't able to resolve the issue. I was able to cancel the translation jobs that made the buttons get stuck in refresh state, but even after editing the title, saving the new translation just causes the job to get stuck again.

The error log seems to contain only old entries not related to this problem.

Hi,

Thank you for contacting the support, I am assigned this ticket and 'll try my best to help you on the issue.

As per the latest screenshot of error log, the recent error is several weeks old. But as a suspect, this refers to one thing which I'll recommend checking:

- Since you've already added translator, please make sure that this user has First Name, Last Name and Email fields filled correctly in their WordPress profile.

- If you needed to fix these fields, then after updating the profile, please add this user again in WPML Translators by deleting it first from there, then adding again with the language pairs. Then cancel the existing job and try again.

So far, if this doesn't help, then I'll advise to try the following:

IMPORTANT: Take full backup of your website and database beforehand. It is highly advised to try the following on a staging/dev site first, so your live website isn't compromised.

- Deactivate all other plugins except WPML and its addons.
- Switch to a standard theme like 2021 or 2022.
- Try with a new test page and see if it works.
- If this goes fine, try with one of your existing pages.
- Then retry these with your theme, which is unfortunately isn't on our compatibility list (https://wpml.org/theme/). So we need to see if this is causing any problem.
- Lastly, you may start activating other plugins one by one, while checking for the issue. This step is also important to find out any incompatibility kicking in. Also, here you may need to cancel jobs between retries.

Please let me know and I'll try my best to further assist you on the matter.

Regards.
