We keep noticing elements on the English-language WordPress site that are
a) are in German (jumped back), example: 2nd teaser on hidden link: only the headline is back in German ("Digitale Tools & KI Assistenz") as well as other teasers, although this has already been translated again by us after the behavior has already occurred once. According to the version history (15.1., 17:34pm), an employee has retranslated the texts. However, she only viewed the EN page in edit mode and did not save it.

How can we disable any automatic translation? The target state is that we do not have any automatic translation of content, as our product is slightly different.

What settings do we need to change here?

Hi Vanessa,

Thank you for contacting WPML support, I'd be happy to help you with this issue.

To disable the automatic translation feature, you can follow steps below:

1. Go to WPML > Settings > Translation mode: Translate What You Choose.
2. In the Advanced Translation Editor, if you see the content is translated automatically, you can click on the button Undo Translation and there is a popup to select don't apply the automatic translation next time. Please check this screenshot hidden link

I also recommend:
- Update WPML plugins to the new version
- Increase WP memory limit
Please follow the documentation
https://wpml.org/faq/install-wpml/#checking-for-updates
https://wpml.org/home/minimum-requirements/

Look forward to your reply.
Thanks

Great, thank you!
I followed your instructions. If I do it on a page, does it disable automatic translation for the entire page? Or do we have to make changes for each site? If we have to touch each site, how do I identify the pages with automated translation?

Hi,

If I do it on a page, does it disable automatic translation for the entire page?

Not only the page, the automatic translation feature will not translate the content next time on your site.

Do we have to make changes for each site

Yes. Please disable the feature on each site.

how do I identify the pages with automated translation?

You can edit the translation in the Advanced Translation Editor and hover over the separate line, 3 dots = automatic translation.
Or go to WPML > Translation Management > Tools > Automatic translation usage reports > Download the reports of your automatic translation credits usage and you can see what pages used credits for automatic translation.

Thanks.
