The issue seems to be occurring on specific pages in the Safari browser only. The test was conducted on the "Home" page, and when we opened the translated homepage in the WordPress editor, the source page was missing from the "This is a translation of" field. Please check hidden link">this video.
It appears to be a conflict between WPML and a third-party plugin that is affecting the page connection feature of WPML. Could you please confirm that you have tested in a minimal environment, with all other plugins deactivated except for WPML and String Translation? If not, please grant us permission to conduct a conflict test by deactivating plugins and theme.
If you have already tested this way and the issue persists, please let me know how you are connecting the default page with its translation. Are you manually connecting them, or do they get connected in the usual way once you click on the "+" icon and translate the default page using the WPML translation editor?
Based on this information, we will continue further tests and do our best to assist you in finding a solution. Looking forward to your response.
I've done some testing but not thorough. If your team could test, that would be amazing.
I would prefer to give you access to the staging environment, though. Disabling plugins on production will definitely cause issues. Staging will be an exact replica of prod, though.
Can you set up the private post option again? I can give you WP login and SFTP access to staging.
It would be best if we could do further testing on the staging site. I have enabled the private fields for you to securely share the access.
Once the staging site is ready, please ensure that the issue is replicable in the sandbox. If possible, make a video of the issue and share it with us, as it will be very helpful.
Looking forward to your response and I truly appreciate your cooperation in this matter.
Hi There,
Thank you for sharing the access to your staging site.
To further investigate the issue, we began by opening the translation in the editor and manually connecting it with the default page. As part of our debugging process, we disabled all plugins on your site except for WPML, its addons, and the ACF plugin, and then switched to a default theme. Upon updating the translation of the homepage, we observed that the translated page was properly connected with its default page, indicating no issues in this minimal environment.
To pinpoint the exact cause, we first reactivated your current theme and checked the connection, which remained intact. We then proceeded to activate each plugin individually, checking the connection after each activation. Even with all plugins enabled, the connection between the default and translated pages remained stable, and they were no longer getting disconnected.
It is likely that the site caches were refreshed after disabling and enabling the plugins and themes, and manually reconnecting the default page with the translation, which resolved the issue on the staging site.
On the Main site, you can now clear the caches, and manually connect the translation with its default page by following this guide and check again. Based on our investigation, the issue seems to have happened due to the caches.
I hope you can understand. Feel free to let me know if you have any other questions or need assistance. I will be happy to help.
Based on our investigation, we can confirm that everything is functioning correctly in the Safari Browser after deactivating and reactivating the plugins and themes. This action likely refreshed the caches, resolving the issue.
On the main site, you can clear caches from all sources. If possible, consider deactivating and then reactivating the plugins and themes as well. Remember to take a backup before performing these operations.
Feel free to let me know if you need further assistance in this matter. I will be happy to help.
Best regards,
Prosenjit
