Background of the issue:
On our site we have added Chinese, Arabian, and Russian languages.
The URL uses the letters of the language (Cyrillic for example), but we want them to be Latinica letters.
I've tried to switch on the option 'Translated documents options' -> 'Copy from original language if translation language uses encoded URLs' but URLs still have letters from the current language.

Symptoms:
URLs still have letters from the current language instead of Latinica letters.

Questions:
Do I need to use some additional plugin for transliterating URLs?

Hi there,

Please go to WPML->languages-> edit languages and verify that the languages using Cyrillic have the option "Encode URLs" set to "Yes".

Once that is done along with the option you already enabled all newly created translations will behave as expected, however, the existing ones you will need to do the following:

- Go to pages and click on quick edit for one of the pages
- Update
- Now update the translation

did that resolve the issue? If yes, you can do this using bulk quick edit to save time.

If that did not work, you will manually need to change to the secondary language, quick edit and adjust the permalink.

Let me know your results, please.
