This thread is resolved. Here is a description of the problem and solution.

Problem:
The client needs to manually translate individual strings on their site but is unable to do so because all the strings are stuck on 'Waiting for translator'. The client has tried to solve this issue by following a forum topic but couldn't cancel the 'waiting for translator' status as the strings were not selected in 'Jobs'.
Solution:
We recommended that the client should ensure that all required languages are assigned to their user profile. This can be done by visiting the WPML Translators Management page and clicking on the pencil icon to add other languages to the user profile. Here is the link to manage translators: https://wpml.org/documentation/support/wpml-admin-capabilities/#add-translator
After adding the languages, the client should navigate to the Translation Management Jobs page, filter by 'strings', and check if they can now manage the translation jobs.

If this solution does not resolve the issue or seems irrelevant due to being outdated or not applicable to your case, we highly recommend checking related known issues at https://wpml.org/known-issues/, verifying the version of the permanent fix, and confirming that you have installed the latest versions of themes and plugins. Background of the issue:
I need to translate individual strings on my site hidden link using WPML. I don't need a translator; I just want to manually edit the strings by clicking on the pencil icon and writing the word that should be there. I tried to solve this issue by following a problem I found on https://wpml.org/forums/topic/i-keep-getting-waiting-for-translator-message-all-the-time/. I don't have these strings selected for translation in 'Jobs', so I can't cancel the 'waiting for translator'. I don't see the 'translation basket' tab, which indicates that nothing is selected for translation, but the strings are still in the 'waiting for translator' state. I have spent a lot of time on this and need to solve this problem so that all strings on the site can be translated manually.

Symptoms:
All the strings I need to translate are stuck on 'Waiting for translator'.

Questions:
How can I manually translate strings that are stuck on 'Waiting for translator'?
How can I cancel the 'waiting for translator' status if the strings are not selected in 'Jobs' or "Basket"?

Hi there.

I would like to request temporary access (wp-admin and FTP) to your site so I can better examine the issue. The needed fields are below the comment area. When you log in to leave your next reply, the information you enter is private, meaning only you and I can see and access it.

Our Debugging Procedures

I will check various settings in the backend to see if the issue can be resolved. Although I won't be making changes that affect the live site, it is still good practice to back up the site before providing us access. In the event that we do need to debug the site further, I will duplicate it and work in a separate, local development environment to avoid affecting the live site.

Privacy and Security Policy

We have strict policies regarding privacy and access to your information. Please see:
https://wpml.org/purchase/support-policy/privacy-and-security-when-providing-debug-information-for-support/

**IMPORTANT**

- Please back up the site files and database before providing us access.

If you do not see the wp-admin/FTP fields, your post and website login details will be made PUBLIC. DO NOT post your website details unless you see the required wp-admin/FTP fields. If you do not, please ask me to enable the private box.

The private box looks like this: hidden link

I will be waiting for your response.

Kind regards,
Mihai Apetrei

Thank you for the credentials.

I think the main issue here is that you don't have the other languages assigned to your current user:
hidden link

Go on that link and click the pencil round blue button and make sure that you add the other languages to your user, too.

After you assign all the languages, please go here (hidden link) > filter by "strings" and then see if you can see the other translation jobs.

At the moment, you can't see them or change anything because those other languages are not added to your user. You have only Czech - English and English - Czech

I hope that you will find this information helpful.
