This thread is resolved. Here is a description of the problem and solution.

Problem:
The client reported a PHP notice that occurs with PHP versions greater than 8.0 and inquired about the release date for the WPML version that includes the fix, especially since PHP 8.0 is nearing its end of life.

Solution:
We understand the urgency of the situation and the importance of running WPML on a PHP version that is secure and supported. However, we are unable to provide a specific release date for the update that will address this issue. Our development team is working on various fixes with different priority levels. Rest assured that the PHP notice issue is known to us and will be addressed. We recommend keeping an eye on our announcements blog for updates on the release.

If this solution does not seem relevant to your situation, please feel free to open a new support ticket on our support forum.

Hi,

in our last ticket we reported a PHP notice and got the answer that this will be fixed in v4.7.
The notice is occurs in all php versions greater than 8.0.

PHP 8.0 is officially deprecated in 5 days.
So when can we expect the new WPML version with the fix?

Regards,
Florian

Hi there, Florian.

Sorry for the delayed response but it is a pretty full queue at the moment so it can take a bit longer to get back to you.

In regards to your question, please believe me when I say that I would love to be able to share with you a date or at least an estimate, but that is impossible.

We, supporters, don't have access to that kind of information and there are a lot of fixes that are worked on daily by our developers, taking into consideration how big is our database of customers and plugins that support WPML.

All the issues are split into priority levels, and they are handled and launched based on that.

Once again, I would have loved to be able to give you a clear date but I don't have that kind of information.

It will definitely be mentioned on our blog as soon as it is launched:

Thank you so much for your understanding and I wish you an amazing rest of the day.

That's a shame to hear.

WPML is one of the most used language plugins of WordPress and 2 years after its release it still does not fully support PHP 8.1?

It is currently not possible to run WPML with a PHP version that is still receiving security updates.
This is a big problem for companies like ours that build professional websites. Our customers rely on our websites to be secure and not give error messages.

I hope WPML is aware of this and I therefore expect the issue to be addressed with the highest priority.
A fix within the next 2 weeks should therefore also be in the interest of WPML itself.

Hi there.

I definitely understand that this is an unpleasant experience.

I honestly wish there would have been something that I could do for you so that I can have this issue fixed on the spot but, unfortunately, I can't, as much as I would love to do that.
