Background of the issue:
When WPML activated, after updating post and closing page I have message "Leave site? Changes you made may not be saved." Link to a page where the issue can be seen: hidden link

Symptoms:
When WPML is activated, I receive a message saying "Leave site? Changes you made may not be saved." after updating a post and closing the page. This issue does not occur when WPML is deactivated.

Questions:
Why do I receive the message "Leave site? Changes you made may not be saved." when WPML is activated?
How can I stop this message from appearing when WPML is activated?

Hi there,

Is this message showing up only for that specific page or for all of them?

What are your results if you make a new small edit and update, then update the translation and clear the cache?

Hi. All pages. Any edits and update - result is the same. Sometimes I also have message "There is an autosave of this post that is more recent than the version below."

I would like to request temporary access (wp-admin and FTP) to your site to test the issue.
(preferably to a test site where the problem has been replicated if possible)

**Before we proceed It is necessary to take FULL BACKUP of your database and your website. Providing us with access, you agree that a backup has been taken **

I often use the Duplicator plugin for this purpose: http://wordpress.org/plugins/duplicator/
You will find the needed fields for this below the comment area when you log in to leave your next reply.
The information you enter is private which means only you and I have access to it.

NOTE: If access to the live site is not possible and the staging site does not exist please provide me with a duplicator package created with the duplicator plugin.

Thank you,
Bobby

Thank you for the access details!

Are you still experiencing this issue? When testing I can't reproduce it. I edit any page, make a small change, and update, then I click on Pages and I exit without any errors or warnings.

Am I possibly missing a step?

Hi. Yes, the issue still persist. But I checked on your user - and it doesn't appear.
But me and my colleagues do have it. And in my case left WP menu disappears while I edit. I would like to give you my user details to check.

Hi there,

The left WP menu disappears while I edit ==> This is happening because the Gutenberg editor is set to Full Screen, you can click at the top right and exit fullscreen 🙂

I did this for you using your account.

Also, using your account and Chrome I can reproduce the issue, I get the Chrome JS notification pop up, however, this is also reproduced with WPML deactivated.

Doing a quick search on Google shows a few other people dealing with this issue, but I am not sure how related it might be.
