This thread is resolved. Here is a description of the problem and solution.

Problem:
If you're experiencing issues where product categories are not bound together and no product categories appear in the category translation tab after importing with All Importer, follow these steps.
Solution:
Ensure that your XLS file for import is formatted correctly. In the same cell, you should structure the categories as "Parent cat > Child cat". During the import, select the separator ">". Here's how your XLS should look:

Unique ID - Category
1 - Parent1 > Child1
2 - Parent1 > Child 2

Similarly, your translation file should be formatted as follows:

Unique ID - Translated Category
1 - Translated Parent1 > Translated Child1
2 - Translated Parent1 > Translated Child 2

If this solution does not resolve your issue or seems outdated, we recommend checking related known issues at https://wpml.org/known-issues/, verifying the version of the permanent fix, and confirming that you have installed the latest versions of themes and plugins. Hi, We have run an import using All Importer for English, then German and French. The products have all imported and bound together correctly but the Product Categories are not bound together and NO product categories appear in the category translation tab. This hasn't happened on a previous import. I have created a staging site and included the details below

Hi again,

As discussed I have converted our conversation into this ticket. Please let me know if importing your categories in a separate XLS and with an unique identifier solves the issue.

Let me share again the docs:

I'll wait for your feedback.
Thanks,
Nico

Hi, I have tried to import categories separately but they don't have any hierarchy. I'm still flummoxed as to why this worked previously but has stopped working. Could you possibly let me know how I should be formatting my csv file to import a hierarchical category structure with Brand and Model numbers in it?

https://wpml.org/errata/wpml-all-import-product-categories-are-not-connected-after-import/

I have tried both the attached structures.

Thanks,

Hello,

From the second documentation I provided which comes directly from WP All import to get nested parent/child categories you should use this type of format:
- In the same cell you should have "Parent cat > Child cat".
- During the import you should select the separator ">" as shown in the screenshot attached.

In short you XLS should look like (2 columns):

Unique ID - Category
1 - Parent1 > Child1
2 - Parent1 > Child 2

Then your translation file should look like:
Unique ID - Translated Category
1 - Translated Parent1 > Translated Child1
2 - Translated Parent1 > Translated Child 2
