We are experiencing an issue where WPML continues to translate the acronyms “ECD” and “ECDGA” into French (for example, translating ECD to “DPE”), despite repeated attempts to prevent acronym translation.

These acronyms must always remain exactly as written in all languages. This issue is affecting multiple posts, including older content, not just new posts. We have previously instructed that acronyms should not be translated, but WPML continues to override this.

We need assistance with:

• Preventing WPML from translating specific acronyms globally across the site
• Ensuring existing translated posts are corrected
• Confirming the proper configuration to permanently stop acronym translation

An example affected URL is (In the title):

Please advise on the correct configuration or provide a permanent solution to stop WPML from translating these acronyms.

Hi there,

I can see that you have already configured the glossary, ideally that should resolve the issue, in this case I would like to request temporary access (wp-admin and FTP) to your site to test the issue.
(preferably to a test site where the problem has been replicated if possible)

**Before we proceed It is necessary to take FULL BACKUP of your database and your website. Providing us with access, you agree that a backup has been taken **

I often use the Duplicator plugin for this purpose: http://wordpress.org/plugins/duplicator/
You will find the needed fields for this below the comment area when you log in to leave your next reply.
The information you enter is private which means only you and I have access to it.

NOTE: If access to the live site is not possible and the staging site does not exist please provide me with a duplicator package created with the duplicator plugin.

Thank you,
Bobby

Thank you for the access details!

It looks like the automatic translation is currently paused while it's waiting payment of an invoice, therefore I was not able to fully test this, however, I did add a new test page with the word ECD, when I accessed it in the ATE editor it correctly pulled it as ECD and suggested the glossary translation.

If you could resolve the automatic translation issue, I'd like to test it again with it activated.

If you visit the post I shared, you will see that it is not translating ECD to ECD (Translates it to DPE). Additionally, all newly created posts are not translating either.

Could you please try creating a test post on your end and check whether it translates correctly? If possible, please record a short video of the process so we can see if there is anything we may be doing incorrectly on our side.

At the moment I am not able to use the automatic translation.

--> If you would like to continue using translate everything it requires a payment

--> Or we can click on "cancel" pending jobs and deactivate translate everything, then I will be able to assign some test credits to your site to test this further.

At the moment though you can see that it does suggest the glossary term.

Testing with automatic translation however, will give us a better idea.
