This thread is resolved. Here is a description of the problem and solution.

Problem:
You are trying to update WPML plugins but cannot connect to wpml.org. A notice indicates that network or security settings might be blocking this connection.
Solution:
1. Check if the issue is a false positive by navigating to Plugins > Add New > Commercial and clicking the check for updates button. If WPML still shows as registered after the page refreshes, it's likely a false positive.
2. If confirmed, you can proceed to update the plugins. Ensure to select the new versions and update them. However, it's crucial to create a full website backup before updating.

If this solution does not resolve your issue or seems outdated, we recommend checking related known issues at https://wpml.org/known-issues/, verifying the version of the permanent fix, and confirming that you have installed the latest versions of themes and plugins. If further assistance is needed, please open a new support ticket at WPML support forum.

Background of the issue:
I am trying to update WPML plugins on my site hidden link. WPML needs to connect to its server to check for new releases and security updates.

Symptoms:
WPML plugin cannot connect to wpml.org. There is a notice in the admin part indicating that something in the network or security settings is preventing this connection.

Questions:
How can I allow outgoing communication to wpml.org?
What network or security settings might be blocking the connection to wpml.org?
How to fix the issue and get updates?

Hi there.

There's a big chance that what you are seeing is a false positive that remained in the server cache. The notification will be removed automatically when the cache automatically clears on its own.

To check if that's a false positive, go to Plugins > Add new > Commercial > click the "check for updates" button, and if the page refreshes and WPML is still showing as registered, then yes, that is just a false positive.

From that same page, you should be able to update the plugins by checking the box for the new versions and updating them, but before you do that, I recommend that you first create a full website backup.

Please let me know how that goes.

Kind regards,
