Background of the issue:
I am trying to use the WPForms plugin to allow visitors to send forms only from selected countries. I selected approximately 10 countries in the spam country filter, but when I save the form and return to it, the selected countries disappear. I contacted the WPForms team, and they identified a conflict with the WPML plugin. They suggested deactivating the WPML plugin or contacting the WPML support team. Here is the screencast they provided: hidden link. Additionally, since installing WPML, the WordPress backend has become very slow, and sometimes WPBakery popups do not display information or result in a site error due to resource usage. I am using the WPBakery and The7 theme. Link to a page where the issue can be seen: hidden link
Symptoms:
The selected countries in the WPForms spam country filter disappear after saving and reopening the form. The WordPress backend is slow, WPBakery popups sometimes do not display information, and there are site errors due to high resource usage.
Questions:
Is there a known issue with WPML causing conflicts with WPForms?
Is the slowdown and resource usage issue related to WPML, WPBakery, or The7 theme?
We try to keep each ticket to 1 issue, if possible please open a new thread regarding the performance issue, but first do try the following suggestions.
- increase WP Memory Limit to 256M or higher
- increase PHP Time Limit to 90 or higher (300 is usually recommended if you notice timeout issues)
Regarding the WP Forms Multilingual issue you are experiencing and the country filters:
I have created a sandbox environment for us to further investigate.
PLease access the sandbox and upload the PRO version of WP Forms hidden link
I'll try to increase the memory and time setting and see if that works, thanks!
But you're right, focus on one thing at a time 😉
I installed the 'elite' version of WPforms in the sandbox.
To reproduce the issue, I have to install the WPForms Multilingual add-on, but I don't have the authority to do so, so if you can do that, we can see if the problem occurs then.
Hi! I don't have access to ftp. Is there another way to get this done? Maybe add a snippet to WPcode or something? Or is there an updated version of WPML available already perhaps?
Unfortunately, this would not work adding to WPcode.
When logging in to your CPANEL, you should be able to access the file manager without the need of FTP.
Another option is also installing the 'file manager' plugin within the wp backend, but please do make sure you have a working backup before making the changes.
Let me know your results, please.
