This thread is resolved. Here is a description of the problem and solution.

Problem:

The client is trying to update WPML plugins on your WordPress site, but despite having an active license key, the updates are not processing. An error message indicates a connection issue.

Solution:

Navigate to Plugins>>Add New>>Commercial tab and click on the *Check for updates* button to refresh the installer caches and attempt to retrieve the latest WPML version updates.

May you have to visit Plugins>>Add New>>Commerical tab and click on the *Check for updates* button to get the WPML automatic upgrade links of the latest version. This step will help us refresh the installer caches.

Please check if you are getting any alerts after clicking the *Check for updates* button.

Maybe this will be a temporary issue. If it remains after some time, you can also try the workaround suggested in the following FAQ and ticket.
