This thread is resolved. Here is a description of the problem and solution.

Problem:
You are trying to edit a paragraph in the original language on your website, but after saving, the Advanced Translation Editor (ATE) does not detect any changes, and therefore, does not prompt for further translation.
Solution:
If you're experiencing this issue, we recommend disabling any object cache or Speed Optimizer plugins while making translations. This can sometimes resolve the issue where changes to the original language are not detected by ATE. Here are the steps you can follow:
1. Disable the object cache in your website's caching settings.
2. If you are using a Speed Optimizer plugin, disable it temporarily.
3. Make some changes to the default language page and check if ATE now recognizes these edits.
If the problem persists, it might be due to specific configurations or other plugins affecting WPML's functionality. Since the solution provided might be outdated or not applicable to your case, we highly recommend checking related known issues at https://wpml.org/known-issues/, verifying the version of the permanent fix, and confirming that you have installed the latest versions of themes and plugins.

Background of the issue:
I am trying to edit an entire paragraph on the original page, and upon saving it, the ATE does not see any changes made, therefore does not require further translation. Link to a page where the issue can be seen: hidden link

Symptoms:
WPML unable to detect editing of the original language. I expected to see normal behavior, but instead, I got nothing.

Questions:
Why is WPML not detecting changes made to the original language?
How can I ensure that ATE recognizes edits for translation?

Hello,

thanks for contacting us.

Such an issue can sometimes be caused by object cache, please try to disable it while doing translations / disable the Speed Optimizer plugin, and retry again by making some changes to the default language page.

Let me know how it goes.

Regards,
Drazen
