Background of the issue:
I am trying to import XLIFF translation files for Finnish and Swedish languages into a local server for our live website hidden link, which is in English and EST languages. We exported XLIFF files for translation and now have them ready for import.
Symptoms:
When using a .zip file, I get an error: 'the uploaded XLIFF file does not belong to this system'. If I import a single XLIFF file, it is imported, but the translated language post is not created, and I am unable to view it.
Questions:
How can I import XLIFF files for Finnish and Swedish languages?
Why is the local server not allowing the import of these files?
Thank you for reaching out to WPML support. I’m happy to assist you with this issue.
It seems that the zip file you mentioned contains multiple pages, and one of the files may be invalid. I recommend sending an XLIFF file with fewer pages, as it will be easier to manage.
Also, zip files contains multiple pages and if there is any error in any of pages then how can we detect in which page is there error? what will be possible errors will be there?
We would need to manually check what's wrong with the xliff file.
To debug this issue further, I would need to check your site settings once, for this I would need temporary access (wp-admin and ftp) to your site.
So could you please provide me with those details, you will find the needed fields for this below the comment area when you log in to leave your next reply. hidden link
