Background of the issue:
I am trying to translate the element 'Woo filter by price' in the layout section of the Avada theme, but the element won't show up on the English or German page. So it cannot be duplicated.
Symptoms:
The 'Woo filter by price' element does not appear on the English or German page, preventing duplication.
Questions:
Why won't the 'Woo filter by price' element show up on the English or German page?
How can I successfully translate and duplicate the 'Woo filter by price' element in Avada?
Thank you for reaching out and sharing all the details — that really helps.
We’ve seen this behavior before when working with Avada and the “Woo Filter by Price” element. Usually, the reason it doesn’t appear on translated pages is that this element is closely linked to WooCommerce widget areas or filter logic that isn’t automatically duplicated or translated through the layout builder. It’s not always treated as a static content block, so when a layout is translated, the filter element can sometimes be omitted or not display on the frontend.
One thing we can try together is ensuring the element exists in the original layout, then checking if it's set to appear based on widget areas or dynamic conditions that might not apply the same way on translated pages. We should also check if that specific element is being excluded from the translation sync or if there’s a setting in Avada’s layout options that controls visibility by language.
If the element is added with a widget, it’s also helpful to go to Appearance > Widgets and verify if it’s present in the language-specific widget areas (sometimes themes or plugins register them separately per language without syncing). If it turns out that the filter is only added via a widget and not through a directly translatable layout element, we might need to recreate it manually for the translated language.
If you'd like, I can take a closer look — I just need access to the backend.
In the meantime, I was able to use the login info and connect to the site successfully.
I spent some time on it, I'm still digging, and I was also wondering if it's okay if I make changes to it, or if you can give me your written approval so we can duplicate this test site on a local testing environment.
Thank you for your outstanding patience while I worked to resolve this issue.
I was finally able to understand the issue. It took way longer than I initially estimated, and I got to focus on more in-depth debugging processes because I wrongly assumed that the products were already translated. My bad, sorry for this.
On your site, there is only one product, and it exists only in Danish.
There is no translation of that product into any of the other languages, so it would be impossible to filter by something that doesn't exist.
If you go to WPML > Translation Management and duplicate the currently existing product into any of the languages you choose, then visit the page on the front end, you will see that the filter by price appears.
So, the way things work is this: you will need to have available in the other languages any property that you might filter by. If you need to filter by product pricing, you will need to have products available (published, not saved as a draft) in the other languages.
If you need to filter by other things (like "Materiale" or "Skotype"), you will need to ensure that these exist in the different languages as well.
If you want to filter by a product category, for example, you would need to ensure that the product category is translated into the other language and exists in that language so that the filter can display the option.
I thought I had duplicated the product but now I've tried again. Can You check to see if I have done it proberly.
I still think there's a problem with the layout section of Avada.
I you click on the menu item "Kategorier" and then on "Træsko" the product appears with the filter option in danish but when you switch to english and german only the duplicated/translated product appears.
And sorry mayby It was a fault to only have 1 product.
So I just added some copies and changed in the price.
So now It works on the english site but the greman site is still missing the woo filter price element.
Check I you click on the menu item "Kategorier" and then on "Træsko"
If you navigate to the backend of the German version of the Shop template (hidden link), select "Edit anyway" when prompted, and you will see that the price filter is missing. You can drop it here and then save.
