Background of the issue:
I am trying to create a translation for an English page on my WordPress website using WPML. I expected the "+" icon to change to a pencil icon after creating the translation. I have enabled the 'Copy content from original when creating a new translation' option in WPML settings and increased the memory limit to 512M. The issue can be seen at: hidden link.
Symptoms:
When I click on the "+" icon, the translation page opens completely blank without copying any content from the original version. The "+" icon does not change to a pencil icon, and WPML translation settings are missing when editing the page.
Questions:
Why is the translation page opening blank without copying content?
Why does the "+" icon not change to a pencil icon after attempting translation?
Thanks for contacting us. This sounds like there is an issue with the Advanced Translation Editor. Could you please navigate to WPML > Support > Error logs and let me know if you see any errors over there?

In short:
- Go to "WPML > Support > Debug Information" (link)
- Copy the Debug Information from there.
- Find the private field I activated and paste that information.
