This thread is resolved. Here is a description of the problem and solution.
Problem:
The client reported that the main page was not displaying the actual flag images for the language switcher, but instead showed 'wpml-ls-flag'. The client had tried several solutions without success.
Solution:
We asked the client how they added the language switcher to the site to understand the issue better. After gaining access to the site, we added a language switcher to the page. Here are the steps we recommend if you're experiencing this issue:
1. Edit the front page by navigating to https://foreverfireflies.com/wp-admin/site-editor.php?p=%2F&canvas=edit
2. Click on the block that contains the language switcher shortcode.
3. Use one of these shortcodes:
[wpml_language_selector_widget]
or
[wpml_language_selector_footer]
4. Save the changes.
You can also change the style of the language switcher in WPML -> Languages -> Language switcher options.
If this solution does not resolve your issue, or if it seems outdated or irrelevant to your case, we highly recommend checking related known issues at https://wpml.org/known-issues/, verifying the version of the permanent fix, and confirming that you have installed the latest versions of themes and plugins.
