This thread is resolved. Here is a description of the problem and solution.
Problem:
The client is preparing to change their website's URL from a development site to a production site and is concerned about whether they need to retranslate the content or obtain a new site key.
Solution:
If you're preparing to change your website's URL, you don't need to retranslate any content as all existing translations will remain intact. However, you will need to register your site again with the new URL to continue receiving updates. Here are the steps we recommend:
1. Navigate to Plugins → Add New and select the Commercial tab. Then, click Unregister WPML from this site.
2. After the page loads, click on Register WPML. You will see a prompt to enter the site key. Select Get a key for this site.
3. In your WPML account, follow the site key wizard and set it to Production site.
4. Copy the new key and paste it in the Commercial tab. Afterwards, you can delete the old site key from your WPML account.
If this solution does not apply to your situation, or if it seems outdated, we highly recommend checking the related known issues, verifying the version of the permanent fix, and confirming that you have installed the latest versions of themes and plugins. If further assistance is needed, please open a new support ticket.
