This thread is resolved. Here is a description of the problem and solution.

Problem:
The client reported that after translating products, the featured images were not visible in the WordPress admin panel or on the product edit page, although they appeared normally on the frontend.
Solution:
We recommended the following steps to address the issue:
1. Navigate to WP Dashboard > WPML > Settings > Media Translation and click the START button to initiate the media copying process.
2. Go to Dashboard > Products and open the edit screen of the original product. Look for a pencil/circle/gear icon under the "Languages" section.
3. Make a minor edit, such as adding an extra space, and save the changes.
4. Check for a circular arrow next to the language links, indicating that an update is required.
5. Re-edit the translation and ensure it is saved as 100% translated.
If these steps do not resolve the issue, we suggested checking the WPML > Settings > Media Translation and ensuring that the option to "Automatically detect best options for translating image texts (alt, caption, title)" is deactivated, which allows for the media copying feature.

Hello Christofer,

It finaly worked.. i dit that 2-3 times, not its seems ok.

I have another question for you. I translated 6 products and noticed that there is no featured image in the admin panel > Products (adminpael.jpg). Of course, if you edit the product, there is neither a featured image nor a gallery(edit-product.jpg). However, on the frontend the product appears normally with its images.

Hello,

Please go to WP Dashboard > WPML > Settings > Media Translation and click the START button to start the copying process.

Also please test by following the steps below:

- Go to your Dashboard > Products.
- Open the edit screen of the original Product. You should see a pencil/circle/gear icon in the sidebar options under the "Languages" section.
- Make a small change, for example, add an extra blank space at the end of a sentence/paragraph.
- Save it.
- You should now see that a circular arrow appears beside the 2nd languages links, this means that an update is required.
- Edit the translation again and save it up to 100% translated.

If the issue persists, I'd appreciate it if you could give me the URL/User/Pass of your WordPress dashboard after you make sure that you have a backup of your website.
It is absolutely important that you give us a guarantee that you have a backup so if something happens you will have a point of restore.

Make sure you set the next reply as private.

Also tell me which product to check.

Thanks.

Crhristofer,

if i update a product manualy, it works just fine. But i can't do that for 1000 products. I bought credits to translate productcs automatically. Do i need to change any settings ?

Ok thanks. Now that it is working and in general there is no issue on the front end, you can actually ignore it and whenever you do a change for a product it should be fixed as you did for the previous product.

But if you want to make sure you can do as follows:

- Go to WordPress Dashboard > Products
- Select all the products
- Click Edit at the top section
- Without changing anything click the Update button to force a change (which is actually no change but will trigger the need for translation)
- That should now show the images.

You can test the steps above in 2-3 ones first and see if it is ok.

The side effect of this is that it will show the circle icon that means there is a need for translation.

But as there is no actual change, you can send all for automatic trnaslation and there will be no credit usage as the translation memory will be used.

Thanks.

Good morning,
as far as I remember there used to be a setting that duplicated the images in products, which I can no longer find in the settings. This setting should do the job for us, without needing to edit the products and then save them.

Hello,

You asked a question but then it seems you set the ticket as resolved.

Actually that option is still there and you can enable it.

Please go to WPML > Settings > Media Translation and select the deactivate the "Automatically detect best options for translating image texts (alt, caption, title)" option.

There, you will find the media copying feature.

But I think the method I mentioned should work and I am not sure about this item.

Thanks.

Hello Christofer,
I had that option enabled, but only after disable/reenable it, it worked as it should.

That is why i closed the ticket.

Thank you
