This thread is resolved. Here is a description of the problem and solution.

Problem:
The client reported that translations on their French homepage were reverting to English, despite being previously translated. Specific issues included homepage elements and section titles rolling back to English after attempts to re-translate and save them. Additionally, the text "Subscribe to get access to all of the latest recipes and updates!" in the footer could not be translated again using String Translations.
Solution:
We asked the client to attempt re-translating the reverted content and monitored the page to ensure the translations did not revert again. For the specific issue with the footer text not being translatable via String Translations, we created a separate ticket to address this problem. You can follow the progress of this issue here.

If this solution does not apply to your case, or if it seems outdated, we recommend opening a new support ticket. We also advise checking the related known issues, verifying the version of the permanent fix, and confirming that you have installed the latest versions of themes and plugins. Background of the issue:
Hi Kor,

I did not respond quickly enough so the topic I opened closed. Below was my issue. You mentioned my credentials did not work to log onto my WordPress. Would you be able to resend me a private form so I can input the correct credentials?

I did not work on my blog for a few months. Now that I am back to it, I noticed quite a lot of elements on my French homepage rolled back to English. I am trying to re-translate it, but everything would just roll back to English. Link to a page where the issue can be seen: hidden link

Symptoms:
Some of the translations on my homepage disappeared and elements on my French homepage rolled back to English.

Questions:
Why did the translations on my homepage disappear?
How can I prevent the translations from rolling back to English?

Thank you for your reply. Upon checking, it appears you're using the "manual" translation method, as shown in the attached screenshot. If this is your preferred approach, you'll need to edit the French translation page directly and apply the changes manually there.

Hi Kor,

Indeed but that is the issue. My homepage was fully translated a long time ago. But all of a sudden, some elements are rolling back to the English version. Furthermore, if I even try to translate one of the items and save it, it just wouldn't save and roll back to English (for instance one of the section titles). Also the post titles would remain as Capital letter for each work (like the English version). If I change it back to "no formatting", it just no longer works and rolls back to capital letter for each word.

If there is no way back, I can re-translate everything that rolled back, but the issue is it does not work. Also, I am afraid this type of issues happens again, cancelling what I translated in the past.

Many thanks,

Emma

Thanks for your reply. Since I'm currently reviewing your website, could you please try translating the content again? Here's a recording of my attempt: hidden link — I was able to translate the text into French, but I'm having difficulty editing the words, and I'm not sure why.

Once you've completed the edits, we’ll monitor the page over the next few days to see if the content reverts back to English.

Hi Kor,

Thank you for that. I have tried translating the items that rolled back to English and for some reason it seemed to work. When I tried it last time I noticed the issue, the translations would not save.

The only thing that I could not translate again is the text "Subscribe to get access to all of the latest recipes and updates!" in the footer. It was translated in string translations. I note my French translation are still saved, but still the front end would show it in English. Could you help?

Also, would you know what could have caused this issue? I would like to avoid it to occur again and most importantly that other translations such as posts or recipes roll back to English, since those are quite time consuming to translate.

Many thanks,

Emma

Thanks for your reply. Since the initial reported issue has been resolved, we can close this ticket. As for the "Subscribe to get access to all of the latest recipes and updates!" string, which cannot be translated using String Translations, I've split the ticket here https://wpml.org/forums/topic/strings-cannot-be-translated-using-string-translation/ so that we can follow up.
