This thread is resolved. Here is a description of the problem and solution.

Problem:
You are trying to update all translated homepage versions to noindex using WPML and Yoast, but the translated homepage keeps updating to indexed instead of noindex.
Solution:
We recommend using the language constant to define language codes globally for all secondary languages. You can find more details on how to implement this in the WPML Forum - No Index No Follow.

If this solution does not apply to your case, or if it seems outdated, we highly recommend checking related known issues at https://wpml.org/known-issues/, verifying the version of the permanent fix, and confirming that you have installed the latest versions of themes and plugins. If you still need assistance, please open a new support ticket.

Hi,

The best approach is to use the language constant as described here: WPML Forum - No Index No Follow. This allows you to define language codes globally for all secondary languages.

Best regards,
