A different domain per language won't save.

This thread is resolved. Here is a description of the problem and solution.

Problem:
The client added a new Italian language to their WPML setup, but after saving the domain 'flamula.it' in WPML > Languages, it unexpectedly changes to 'it.flamula.si' upon refreshing the page.
Solution:
1. Ensure WPML is Up to Date: Verify that all WPML components, particularly WPML Multilingual CMS and WPML String Translation, are updated to the latest versions.
2. Verify Hosting Configuration for 'flamula.it': Contact the hosting provider to ensure that 'flamula.it' is correctly set up as an alias or parked domain that points directly to the main WordPress site without redirection.
3. Re-enter the domain in WPML settings and ensure the Language URL format is correctly set.
4. Clear all caches (plugin, server, browser) and retest the setup.
If these steps do not resolve the issue, it might be due to outdated information or a unique case not covered here. ziga pipan	Background of the issue: I added a new language (italian), just like I did with every language before. when I enter a domain in wpml > languges and click save all is ok. hidden link But when I refresh the page flamula.it changes to it.flamula.si hidden link weird?? Symptoms: When I refresh the page, the domain flamula.it changes to it.flamula.si. Questions: Why does the domain change from flamula.it to it.flamula.si after refreshing the page?

Based on your screenshot, it looks like the settings aren't being saved correctly. Probably due to a conflict with another plugin. Please try the following steps and see if it helps: 1. Disable all the plugins except the WPML related ones from your WordPress Dashboard > Plugins and see if the issue is gone, if so, activate one plugin at a time until the culprit one is found. 2. Temporary change to a default WordPress theme such as the ‘TwentySeventeen’ theme from your WordPress Dashboard > Appearance > Themes menu. If the issue persists, I would need to take a closer look at your site. So I would need to request temporary access (WP-Admin and FTP) preferably to a test site where the problem has been replicated if possible in order to be of better help and check if some configurations might need to be changed IMPORTANT: Please, note, a backup is required for security reasons, and to avoid any data loss, you can use the https://wordpress.org/plugins/updraftplus/plugin for these backup needs. Your following answer will be private, which means only you and I have access to it. ✙ I would need your permission to de-activate and re-activate Plugins and the Theme and to change configurations on the site if required. This is also a reason the backup is critical.
