I need some support in translating ACF taxonomy repeater:
We are using ACF Repeater fields on WooCommerce products.
Inside the repeater we have a taxonomy field ("Vlastnosť") and a text field ("Hodnota").
Taxonomy terms are correctly translated in WPML.

However, in the Hungarian product translation the taxonomy field inside the repeater is always greyed out and not editable, even though:

The field is set to Taxonomy type in ACF

WPML Custom Fields Translation is configured correctly (Repeater = Translate, Taxonomy field = Copy, Text field = Translate)

The background "Updating affected posts" process has already completed

The Hungarian version of the product IS shown as translated (not duplicate)

But in the Hungarian editor, all ACF repeater subfields show “Original:” and remain locked.
It looks like the product translation is still treated as a duplicate, so WPML does not allow editing the repeater subfields.

Because of this, the Hungarian product does not receive the mapped taxonomy values and nothing appears on the frontend.

We need WPML to allow editing of ACF repeater fields in the translated product (HU), or ensure the translation is treated as an independent translation, not a synchronized duplicate.

Please advise how to fully decouple the translated product from the original so the ACF Repeater fields become editable.

Product link slovak version is the main, it is ok:

Hello,

Please note that we currently are not able to provide support for custom work within this forum.
I will, however, try to point you to the correct direction.

The problem seems to be in your theme's functions.php file, line 70. Where in the translated product get_term($property_id); returns a WP_Error instead of a taxonomy term.

I see two problems. The first one is that you hardcoded the taxonomy slug but the slug is set to be translatable in WPML > Settings > Taxonomies translation.

The second is that the taxonomy is not attached to any post type. How did you create the terms?

Best Regards,
Otto
