Links are automatically changed to other language

This thread is resolved. Here is a description of the problem and solution.

Problem:
You are experiencing issues with links on the German homepage of your site redirecting incorrectly to the English version of the shop page.
Solution:
First, ensure that you are using the latest version of the WPML core plugin and all its add-ons. We recommend updating to version 4.8.5 to benefit from recent bug fixes and performance improvements. You can check the latest released versions under My Account → Downloads on our website. For instructions on updating WPML, visit http://wpml.org/faq/install-wpml/.
After updating, if you are using a custom language switcher, try adding it to your footer via WPML → Languages to see if it resolves the issue.

Jesper	Background of the issue: I am working on a site under development using WPML. The site has two languages: English (en) as the original and German (de) as the translated page. I am trying to ensure that links saved in the German content pages, specifically the homepage, are correctly directed. Symptoms: Links on the German homepage are incorrectly redirecting to the English version of the shop page. For example, links intended for hidden link are redirecting to hidden link. Questions: Why are links on the German homepage redirecting to the English version of the shop page? How can I ensure that links on the German homepage point to the correct German pages?
