Background of the issue:
I am trying to translate the main menu of my website from English to Hebrew RTL using the WPML plugin. I am using the Avada template, the latest version up to date. The issue can be seen on this page: hidden link.
Symptoms:
The translated Hebrew text strings in the main menu of the translated Hebrew pages are not correct, and I cannot edit them. Instead of the expected translations, I am seeing incorrect text such as 'טקסיגו הום' for 'About us', and 'סעו עם – הרוויחו יותר. שלמו פחות. בלי התחייבויות.' for both 'Our uniqueness' and 'Join us'.
Questions:
Why are the translated Hebrew text strings in the main menu incorrect?
How can I edit the incorrect translations in the main menu?
Thank you for reaching out to WPML support. While one of my colleagues picks up this ticket, I’d like to provide some initial debugging steps and see if I can assist you right away.
The second option with creating a menu in hebrew from Appearance -> menu worked. Thank you!
Also I created a different ticket but I am not sure if it is open indeed, as I don't see it.
Our site is in English and translated into Hebrew (RTL) using WPML. I would like to control the styling specifically for Hebrew pages — such as font sizes, icon direction, etc. — while still relying on WPML for all text translations.
Problem:
When I apply custom styling directly to the Hebrew pages (e.g. via the WordPress Avada editor), it works as expected.
However, when I use the WPML Advanced Translation Editor (ATE), those styling changes are lost.
I understand this is due to the following warning:
"Warning: Edits you're about to make will be lost. You are about to edit this translation using the standard WordPress editor. Any changes you make will be lost the next time you send this page for translation."
Question:
What is the recommended best practice to apply and preserve per-language styling (specifically for RTL Hebrew pages) without losing changes every time we use ATE for translation updates?
