I know that there are several forum topics about the same subject. But most of them recommend using WPML Media Translation, that actually we don't need.
The website has been translated automatically with Google (57 pages in 10 translated languages, means 570 translations in total).
Images are not missing on all translations generally, but on some like hidden link.
Is there a way to "bulk update" all translations and link the images correctly?
However, before doing that I'll advise to take a full backup of site and database first. Then update WPML plugins to the latest versions before trying the above mentioned.
I've taken over this ticket and would be happy to assist you further in this matter.
I understand the issue you're experiencing. Often, problems with images not appearing correctly in translated versions occur if the option shown in this screenshot (hidden link) was unchecked prior to adding the translation. For the post that is not showing the images properly, could you please try the following:
- Open the default post in WordPress Editor.
- In the Language meta section, you'll see two options under Media Attachments(Please check this screenshot: hidden link). Make sure that both options are selected.
- Add the images again for the default post, save the changes, and update the translation as well.
The mentioned options ensure that the Images are copied correctly to the translation.
If that solves the issue, you can do the following to ensure that the images are properly synchronized across the translation.
- Please go to WPML > Support > Troubleshooting
- Click on the following buttons:
-- Synchronize posts taxonomies [Make sure to select "Media" from the dropdown before clicking the button. Once the process is done for the Media post type, please do the same for Pages and Posts]
-- Clear the cache in WPML
-- Assign translation status to duplicated content
-- Set language information
-- Fix post type assignment for translations
- Once done, clear the caches from the site and browser then check again.
I hope the steps above will help. But, feel free to let me know if you need further assistance. I will be happy to help.
Best regards,
Prosenjit
