What should we configure so that language version links always redirect to pages in the same language (we've tried a lot, including the Sticky Links plugin)? Now we have to change each link in the editor, and this setting resets immediately after a translation update. Any solutions? |

Hello, Please provide your debug information so I can look at some of your configurations. We have an excellent article on how to locate it here: https://wpml.org/faq/provide-debug-information-faster-support/. How are the links inserted in the page? Are they just included in the content or in any other element? Try the following please: Best Regards, |

Otto, hello! Yes, the links are simply embedded in the content. These include both regular text links and buttons. We did what you suggested, but unfortunately, the links continued to point to untranslated text. Maybe there's some magic sequence that should work, but we haven't found it yet. We've now changed the links in the Divi editor itself. However, this method is problematic because if you open the WPML translation editor, the links reset and point to untranslated content again. We can't change all the links in the WPML editor at once, as they simply don't show up there, or only partially. We've discovered that for the links to show up, you need to open the Divi editor first, and then they show up in WPML. So, you still have to use the Divi editor. In principle, if it were possible to remove/delete the WPML editor, leaving only automatic translation, that would be even more convenient, as editing the translation would take place in the familiar interface. If this were possible, that would be fine with us. Or perhaps there's a solution so that links in the translated text would directly point to the translated pages? Hello, Thanks. As I mentioned in the other ticket, switching editors is not recommended. And there is no way to use the WP editor with automatic translations. What I do suggest you to try is to translate the links in the WPML editor this way: Are you using absolute (www.mysite.com/page1) or relative (/page1) URLs in the links? If you use absolute, WPML may not recognize them and "think" that those are external URLs. I also suggest you to try with relative URLs. Let me know if that helps, please. Best Regards, |

Hello! Tell me, Otto, do you understand WordPress software? Honestly, it seems like you don't really understand Divi Builder or how it works. Let me explain it briefly: Divi Builder has nothing to do with the built-in WordPress editor – NOTHING! It's important to understand this when trying to give advice. I feel like I've figured it out better in a few days than you have in your entire time working with WPML. We've already tried everything you're suggesting over 50 times in various combinations – IT DOESN'T WORK! Naturally, all internal links are relative. Naturally, we removed the built-in WordPress editor from the process as soon as we identified the data loss issue. Naturally, with such momentum, we tested many different combinations. And you, Otto, are giving childish advice. It seems like I'm simply wasting my time with you. If there's someone more technically advanced, please bring them into this conversation. Let them get a better understanding first, and then offer their professional advice. Unfortunately, you still haven't figured out the situation. How can I get a qualified recommendation? |

Hello, Thank you for your patience, we figured a new perspective to this ticket is needed, so I will be taking care of your request from now on, Reading the issue, internal links are not being translated automatically (they are not linking to the translated page), and this should work without having to manually edit them using DIVI builder. Editing them from Divi is not a complete solution, just a temporary one as retranslating the page will cause the links to revert back to the original. The issue here is a compatibility issue, we've been getting multiple similar issues related to Divi 5, and I suggest we escalate this. If possible, you could consider reverting to divi 4.X and see if the issue persists, Either way, please share an access to your site, I could then take a copy of your site and test this myself, please share an exemple of link/page where the issue can be seen. From there, I will escalate to compatibility. |

Hello, Ilyes! I'm very glad you've started asking questions about the matter. Ilyes, unfortunately, switching to Divi 4 isn't possible because our workflow doesn't suit us. It's easier for us to abandon Divi altogether than to downgrade to Divi 4. Regarding access to the site... Ilyes, the thing is, our team is aligned and fully understands what's happening on the site. This is important because we're in the scientific field, and precision is crucial in our work. Plus, we have very tight deadlines! If we start granting access to everyone who asks, we'll encounter a ton of errors beyond our control, and our deadlines will be missed. You, Ilyes, will start performing actions on our site that could lead to even more errors, and we won't know the cause. We'll have no choice but to sit and wait for you, thereby missing our strict deadlines. Therefore, it's easier for us to abandon Divi and WPML than to lose control. But... First, we've already found a solution and don't need to improve it. Second, we have a suggestion on how our solution could help many of your clients who use Divi 5. So... In fact, the WPML editor (the one available on the frontend) is less user-friendly than the Divi 5 editor. Also, your clients who use Divi 5 personally are much more accustomed to the Divi Builder than the WPML editor (this is due to the fact that they work in Divi more often than WPML). Therefore, it would be much more convenient for us to edit translations in the Divi Builder we're already familiar with. Furthermore, Divi Builder offers many more options for speedy translation than the WPML editor. The only drawback of this method is that when external translators are involved, who should use the WPML editor, the translations will be reset. Moreover, the WPML editor very often fails to find links, buttons, and other interface elements, which greatly complicates work (you have to first search for what WPML couldn't find, then add strings, which often fails, and only then, if everything has been successful up to this point, translate. Therefore, if an outsourced translator encounters similar problems, they will harass the team and distract them from their main work, forcing them to expand their staff – only from the WPML plugin). Therefore, a solution could be to expand the capabilities of your software (NOT increasing the number of functions, but optimizing them in relation to each other). For example, updating the translations for both "WPML -> Divi" and "Divi -> WPML" (you might have to add a checkbox in the settings to update one or both ways, or you might not). This is the simplest and most powerful software-level solution that would suit all users, not just Divi users. Because the real problem isn't that Divi Builder doesn't integrate with the WPML editor, but that many processes within WPML aren't aligned with each other. In other words, we need to optimize processes to expand team capabilities, and then most issues and bugs, and consequently, support requests, will decrease. If you continue as you are now—considering your clients' stupidity because they can't configure your inconsistent WPML—the number of requests will remain the same or even increase. At the same time, WPML has accumulated quite a few unique features, so by streamlining processes and reducing the limitations of each feature, your plugin will become significantly easier for all your clients. You also need a clearer structure for your settings. Many of your clients contact you with "stupid" questions simply because they can't figure out how to use your plugin right away. If you structure your settings properly and provide more precise wording and explanations, many questions will disappear. In short, we need optimization updates that will take the WPML plugin to the next level. And those who prefer convenience and speed will also start staying with you. And they are the majority today. If you ignore this, we don't really care. We'll continue searching for a more convenient solution, and sooner or later we'll find it (or create it ourselves, since it's much easier now than five years ago). But if you start the optimization journey, you'll create a more convenient and comprehensive solution much sooner, since you already have everything you need. So, sticking with WPML will be cheaper and more reliable. I hope I've shown you the benefits of this method. And I really hope you'll take advantage of it. |

Hello, Thank you for taking the time to provide your insight on this, I was asking for access to show you how to translate with DIVI instead of WPML editor as shown on the video I recorded previously, and I understand that the exemple I took was for WP and Elementor (as I did not have DIVI). Now I do have a DIVI 5 copy and I was able to translate using the DIVI 5 editor like this : hidden link Clicking on the "WordPress" icon : hidden link Will allow you to "disable" WPML translation editor for one or all your pages, and making Divi the default builder to make and edit translation. Then once you click on the "translate independently" button, you will be able to edit any page in any language from now on using divi builder. Unfortunately, we have no way to mix between editors as they are fundamentally built different and for different functions. I will for sure share your propositions with our internal team, thank you for taking the time, we really appreciate genuine feedbacks about our products. |

Hello, Ilyes! I'm very glad my words hit the mark. Forgive me if I was rude, but I had no other way to get through to you. Now you're acting like a professional, and you've shown me that you are one. I'm glad we're both on the same page now. I replicated the method you showed, but I haven't figured out how to use it yet. Most likely, for segmenting workflows in the future (enable - translate, disable - record translation). Ilyes, thank you for your patience and your commitment to achieving results. Now, YOU HAVE HELPED me find a solution! Thanks again! |

Hello, I'm glad we are finding a solution, for future workflow, I suggest disabling WPML for all your pages as shown in the loom video, The first time you do this to a page, a pop-up should show and ask you if you want to apply this to all your pages, and from then, every time you open the page for translation, it will no longer open WPML editor. Also, keep in mind that from that moment all translations can be directly edited like any other page without clicking any WPML related buttons : hidden link Thanks again for your patience, |

You wrote: "Also, keep in mind that from now on, all translations can be directly edited like any other page without clicking any WPML-related buttons: hidden link" Just in case you're wondering, this works without changing WPML settings in the WordPress page settings. All the best! |

Hi, You are right but if you open the WPML editor next (or previously used it on this page), you will might lose your translation, hence why we recommend disabling it first to avoid unexpected issues. |

Ilyes, hello! I'm very sorry you still haven't understood anything. Ilyes, if I wrote to you about all this myself, then I've probably already figured it out, and therefore, I'm capable of making independent decisions. Your clients don't need stupid recommendations (for example, do it just because I, Ilyes, recommend it). On the contrary, your clients need smart recommendations (for example, do it because your task X requires action Y, and therefore you'll sooner or later encounter error Z). But since you don't know the nature of our tasks, you simply shouldn't insist on your recommendations. It looks stupid. |
