This thread is resolved. Here is a description of the problem and solution.
Problem: The client reported an issue where the table displaying product variations was empty on the German version of a product page, despite having translated all attributes and product details. Solution: 1. We verified the use of a shortcode
[varianty id="4658"]
to display product variations and inquired about its origin, whether it was custom code or from a third-party plugin. 2. We made adjustments to the default language settings, saved them, and then re-translated the content to 100%, which resolved the issue of the missing data in the second language. 3. We recommended setting products, variations, and each created attribute to translatable via WPML > Settings. 4. The client was advised to update to WCML 5.5.2.2, translate attributes through WPML > Taxonomy Translation, and update products in the default language. 5. Products should be sent for translation via WPML > Translation Dashboard, and XLIFFs exported, re-translated, and then uploaded. 6. It was noted that the same XLIFF exported for the current translation job should be used for re-import to ensure WPML recognizes it.

in CZ and in DE - there is the table:
Klasse 3, 4
Produkt MK
Produktcode 1 MK – HD – 3, MK – HD – 4
Produktcode MK – HD – 3, MK – HD – 4
Arbeitsbedingungen HD
Arten von Arbeiten ☗ – Bauwesen und Terraingestaltung, ⬤ – Handling und Landwirtschaft
it is the same as in CZ version of the product, but later in the page, there should be table of all variations of the product:
Produkt-Parameter
- and it is empty
can you look at it, if the variations are ok or what is the problem?
great, thanks. I did not want to take over work in progress.
I have made a small change to default language, saved and then re-translated 100% and it shows up fine. Probably related to previous translation settings, so not correct data was copied / created in 2nd language.
1. there is now different Product title and text content is now in czech - does it mean, that it has to be translated again? I added translation trough xliff translated files.
2. under: Produkt-Parameter in DE version - there should be table with variations like it is in CZ version - there are 2 possible solution - or if you know about anything working that way? hidden link
- first table is trough plugin PVT - Product Variation Table for WooCommerce
- second table is PHP script: hidden link
New threads created by Dražen and linked to this one are listed below:
1) It is different because I "translated" it, I did not add correct translation there, it was only for test.
You can try also to re-translate via XLIFF one product and see if that works. Yes, you will probably need to retranslate as first time when you did settings where wrong, and correct variations could not be created for 2nd language.
2) Lets keep things clear and continue in new ticket, as it seems it is an issue with 3rd party plugin that I need to check on further.
Thank you,
can you sumarize what should I do now to translate it correctly?
1. set attributes as translatable
2. translate all attributes
3. load the xliff again (or delete translations and then load the xliff?
Is it correct
- Set Products, Variations and each created attribute to Translatable from WPML > Settings.
- Update WCML 5.5.2.2
- Translate attributes from WPML > Taxonomy translation
- Update product in default language / you can use bulk action from WP and just click in bulk more products UPDATE button without actually doing any change
- Send products for translation via WPML > Translation Dashboard
- Export XLIFFs / re-translate and then upload them
for the last step - can I just use the current translations - I mean I have files from translation agency which I used now. Does it need to be translated again, or will it work with already finished translation jobs?
you would need to use same XLIFF that was exported / created for current translation job and import it, otherwise WPML will not recognize it.
If you are using some XLIFF edit / translation software and if you open new XLIFF it should already be populated with existing / old translation done before. You should not be necessary to re-translate all over again.
Otherwise, you can also manually adjust old XLIFF to match new one:
I resolved it with updated PHP script, which can read variations without price etc. I found out, that I do not have to retlanslate all product, which will be difficult for me. Because I just need to have the variations with parameters in the table, this is the best solution.
