This thread is resolved. Here is a description of the problem and solution.
Problem: You are trying to translate a page from Danish to English using WPML, but the 'settings' icon keeps spinning indefinitely, and the translation does not complete. Solution: 1. Ensure you have a backup of your site. 2. Delete and recreate the problematic page, such as 'Vores medarbejdere'. You can save its content as a template or copy it to avoid recreating it from scratch. 3. After recreating the page, clear all caches on your site. 4. Attempt to translate the newly created page again.
If this solution does not resolve your issue or seems outdated, we recommend checking related known issues at https://wpml.org/known-issues/, verifying the version of the permanent fix, and confirming that you have installed the latest versions of themes and plugins. Background of the issue:
I am trying to translate a whole page from Danish to English on my site hidden link using WPML. I have done this many times before without any problem.
Symptoms:
The 'settings' icon just keeps spinning and nothing happens after attempting the translation.
Questions:
Why is the 'settings' icon spinning indefinitely after attempting a translation?
How can I resolve the issue of translation not completing?
Ok, you closed the chat before I had the chance to write anything.. That's annoying. I had some more questions.. And I just wanted to make sure that you actually understood the issue.
To understand the issue better please watch this video:

And here is my question:
Why can I no longer update to the newest versions of the WPML plugins from plugins? Why do I have to download them in a different way now (pls see the chat transcript what the supporter made me do.)
I made some tests on your website, and it seems that there was a glitch creating the translation information from the original page, thus impeding its translation from being created.
Make sure to have a backup before proceeding.
To verify that, please delete and recreate the Vores medarbejdere page. You can save its content as a template, or copy it, so you don't have to recreate it from scratch. After that, please empty all caches and try retranslating the new version. I know this takes some effort, so I really appreciate your cooperation here 🙂 Let me know how it goes.
I think it works again. It looks like you created a new page for the english translation called vores-medarbejdere-test-en - most of the stuff on that page was already translated. only needed a small part. I did that, saved and renamed the page to our-employees - and now it all works as it should.
