This thread is resolved. Here is a description of the problem and solution.

Problem:
The client needs help translating and syncing menus from English to Chinese, where the menus in Chinese are different from the default English language but still need to sync with their respective pages/posts.
Solution:
We recommend translating the menu manually since automatic syncing only replicates the exact same items across different languages. If you need distinct items in the Chinese menu, manual translation is necessary. You can follow the steps outlined in our documentation on fully custom menu creation.

Tell us what you are trying to do?

Hello,

I need help translating and syncing menu from English to Chinese. The challenge here is that some of the menus in English are not the same as Chinese. How do I create distinctive menu for Chinese that is different from the default English language but they can sync with their respective pages/posts. Note that the translated posts/pages are readily available.

I will await your feedback.

Thanks

Franklin

Hi Franklin.

For what you mentioned, you will need full control and the only way that can be done is by translating the menu manually.

There is no way to sync things that are different in the translated menu.

Syncing is exactly that: syncing the exact same buttons from the default language in the other language. If you need to have different buttons in the other language, then you need to use the manual menu translation method:
https://wpml.org/documentation/getting-started-guide/translating-menus/#fully-custom-create-menus-manually

I hope that you will find this information helpful. 🙂
