Background of the issue:
I am trying to understand the payment status of translations that are left in the queue on my site hidden link.

Symptoms:
Uncertainty about whether translations left in the queue have been paid for.

Questions:
Are translations left in the queue already paid for?

Yes, as I wrote.

So, if there's a spinning icon and shows "In Progress", that means the translation is not "paid for" already and it will spin until I add more credits?
Because in the different ticket I got answer from AI, that, if it's already "in progress", that means it's already paid for.

Also - considering that the webpage has only products and practically nothing more, it is really weird that it ate 90'000 credits to translate only 70 products and the rest 1900 are no just still have no translation. Every product has only sub 30 word description, so where did all the credits actually go? No I am looking at almost 7000 translations in the queue and that number is constantly growing.

as for this moment in time - I feel cheated.

Thanks for your detailed questions—I'll clarify how WPML’s Advanced Translation Editor (ATE) handles credit usage and translation queue behavior.

How ATE Works Behind the Scenes
Segmentation ATE breaks down content into translatable segments—these can include product titles, short descriptions, attributes, taxonomy terms, and even hidden metadata. Even if a product seems short, multiple segments may be extracted depending on how it's structured.

The Translation Memory of ATE avoids re-translating identical segments. If a segment has already been translated on your site or account, it will be reused at no additional cost. However, TM only applies after the segment is processed—so queued items may still consume credits if they contain new or slightly varied content.

Credits are consumed only when a segment is sent for machine translation. If a job is marked “In Progress,” it typically means the translation has already been paid for and is being processed. However, if credits run out mid-queue, some jobs may remain pending until more credits are added.

Why 90,000 Credits Might Be Used Quickly
Even short product descriptions can trigger multiple segments:

- Title

- Short description

- Long description

- Product attributes

- SEO metadata (if Yoast or Rank Math is active)

- other custom fields

What You Can Do
You can safely stop the queue on WPML > Translation Dashboard and switch to DeepL as your preferred translation engine under WPML → Settings → Translation Engines

Anyhow, note that currently the automatic translation will not continue, as you are out of credits. You can purchase more credits or subscribe to Pay-As-You-Go and then pay for your usage at the beginning of next month.

Also, I see on the system that you canceled various jobs, and on the other hand, newer jobs were not finished due to a lack of credits.

Manual translation is also possible via the Classic Editor or by assigning jobs to translators. This way, you can complete the translations yourself, and you will realize, when opening the Advanced Translation Editor, that most content should be partially translated.

I have reviewed the report and credits seem to have to be reduced correclty. Also, note that apart from products, some pages were translated.
