This thread is resolved. Here is a description of the problem and solution.

Problem:
If you're experiencing an issue where an extra 'categories' section with your logo appears only when switching from Swedish to another language on your main page, but not in the original Swedish version, here's what we recommend.
Solution:
First, ensure that all your pages are fully translated and that you have cleared your site's cache. Next, update your WPML plugin and all related add-ons to the latest version, currently 4.7.2, to ensure you have all the recent bug fixes and improvements. You can find the latest versions and update instructions on the WPML update page.
If updating does not resolve the issue, try modifying the original page slightly and save it. Then, complete the translation using the WPML translation editor.

If these steps do not resolve your issue, or if the solution seems outdated or not applicable to your case, we highly recommend checking related known issues on the WPML Known Issues page. Also, confirm that you have installed the latest versions of your themes and plugins. If the problem persists, please open a new support ticket with us for further assistance.

Background of the issue:
I am trying to ensure that my landing page looks the same across all languages on my site hidden link. I am using WPML to switch languages.

Symptoms:
When I switch from Swedish to any other language on my main page, a section called 'categories' with my logo appears just below the top menu bar. This does not happen in the original language, Swedish.

Questions:
How do I fix the issue of the extra 'categories' section appearing when switching languages?
Could you have a look at this issue on my site?

Thank you for contacting WPML support.

I couldn't check the issue as the translated pages gave a 404 error. Make sure that you have translated the pages completely and cleared the cache.

Please update your WPML plugin and add-ons to the latest version, 4.7.2, to benefit from the latest bug fixes and improvements. This may not necessarily resolve your problem; however, we need to work on the newest code available to troubleshoot the issue best.

You can check the latest released versions under "My Account -> Downloads" on this site. Instructions to update can be found here: http://wpml.org/faq/install-wpml/

If you do not see the updates, you might need to click the Check for updates button in the Plugins → Add New Plugin → Commercial tab.

Please remember to backup your database before you proceed.

Hi! I updated the plugin and the 404 error is fixed. However the main issue I described is still there. Any thoughts? Let me know if you like to tak a look at the wp-admin.

Thank you for your feedback. I am glad to hear that it is no 404 error.

To be of better help, I need to request temporary access (wp-admin and FTP) to your site—preferably to a test site where the problem has been replicated. When you log in to leave your next reply, you will find the needed fields below the comment area. The information you will enter is private, meaning only you and I can see and access it.

But before, try these steps:

1. Slightly modify the original page and save it.

2. Navigate to the WPML translation editor and complete the translation.
