This thread is resolved. Here is a description of the problem and solution.

Problem:
The client is trying to change the text displayed by the Complianz plugin on the cookie banner. Despite entering the translation in the dedicated field, the original English text remains unchanged.
Solution:
We recommend translating the smiley icon to HTML code as detailed in the documentation. You can find the necessary steps and examples on how to do this at https://www.w3schools.com/charsets/ref_emoji_smileys.asp.

If this solution does not resolve your issue, or if it seems outdated or irrelevant to your case, please open a new support ticket. We also highly recommend checking related known issues at https://wpml.org/known-issues/, verifying the version of the permanent fix, and confirming that you have installed the latest versions of themes and plugins. Background of the issue:
I am trying to change the text displayed by the Complianz plugin on the cookie banner. I found the string to translate but it does not change anything after putting the translation in the dedicated field. The original text is the English one. Previous ticket: https://wpml.org/forums/topic/translation-issue-25/?ref=wd

Symptoms:
The translation for the cookie banner text does not update after being entered in the dedicated field.

Questions:
Why does the translation for the cookie banner text not update after being entered in the dedicated field?

Thanks for your reply.

Could you please check now? It looks like the smiley icon is causing the issue you had there. I removed it and I'm able to translate it now. Could you check?

Hi Kor,

Thank you for your assistance!
Is the smiley icon the only thing you changed ? It is not an issue on other websites.

Yes, it seemed to work when I removed the smiley face. Could you share the URL of your other Website?
