[Resolved] I can´t Translate the content of the fields inside ACF groups
This thread is resolved. Here is a description of the problem and solution.
Problem: The client is unable to translate the content of fields within the 'Productos' ACF group on their WooCommerce site. Despite translating fields individually and changing settings, the translations do not appear when viewing products. The client suspects a global or settings-related issue and has experienced disappearing translations when changing systems. Solution: 1. We recommend reviewing the site's WPML and ACF translation settings to ensure that fields are marked as 'Translatable'. 2. Check for any caching or theme/template override issues that might affect the display of translated fields. 3. Verify that the global translation settings for ACF fields are correctly configured. 4. If the issue persists, it may be beneficial to consult directly with WPML support for a detailed review of the configuration.
Please note that the solution provided might be outdated or not applicable to your specific case. We highly recommend checking related known issues at https://wpml.org/known-issues/, verifying the version of the permanent fix, and confirming that you have installed the latest versions of themes and plugins. If the problem continues, please open a new support ticket at WPML support forum for further assistance.
This is the technical support forum for WPML - the multilingual WordPress plugin.
Everyone can read, but only WPML clients can post here. WPML team is replying on the forum 6 days per week, 22 hours per day.
Background of the issue:
I am trying to translate the content of fields inside ACF groups on my site hidden link, specifically the 'Productos' group. This group contains fields with options that I can't translate. I've tried using string translation, changing the multilingual configuration, and translating from the WPML translation panel, but only two groups appear, and I can only translate the group, not its content. I'm concerned about losing the contents of the ACF fields as it has happened before.
Symptoms:
I can't translate the content of the fields inside ACF groups, and translations disappear when I change systems.
Questions:
How can I translate the content of fields inside ACF groups?
Why do translations disappear when I change systems?
Hello again, Bruno. There's no way around it, we can't get it to work.
Yesterday, I spent the whole day with Divi's support team. They gave me lots of instructions, and I followed them all, but it still isn't working. They're still working on it.
I wanted to ask you for a favour, if possible.
I've touched so many things within the system over the last few days that I think there are some misconfigurations. Could you (please, please, please) check the WPML translation settings? (There are lots of things I've activated that I'm sure aren't necessary, and since I couldn't find the translations, I'm sure I've messed up by activating things I shouldn't have...)
I am referring to this type of thing (I am attaching a screenshot). Since they are from WPML, Divi, and ACF, I am sure there are things that should not be translated, such as those in the admin section that are not necessary for me, but I do not know how to distinguish them in order to disconnect them and make them untranslatable.
I have been checking with the Elegant Themes support team (Divi) and they can´t find the way to solve it. I have asked them if there is any way to delete the templates (the ones I see in the translation panel that no longer exist in reality) from the file manager or something like that? If they are deleted, I think is possible it would solve the problem.
But they answer me this:
"There is no option to remove them using file manager because those are not files. This is the post type that stored in the database.
The Divi theme doesn't show those post types in the builder so I am not sure from where WPML is loading them. There is also no option to remove them using Divi interface since theme is not loading them. Probably, this is an issue in WPML, it might load some old templates even if they were removed, like from some kind of cache in the plugin that was not cleared.
Can you please contact WPML developers and ask them to check the issue? They should be able to clarify from where WPML is loading those post types and how they can be removed from the list."
I have deleted six templates and refreshed the cache, but I haven't uploaded the news templates again to check if they finally disappeared. However, they still appear in the translation options. There should be ten, but there are many more, including duplicates...
I am attaching screenshots.
I don't know what else I can do to help you find the problem, I've exhausted all my options.

It’s not always obvious which custom fields need translation and which do not, since this depends on your site’s setup, the plugins in use, and other specifics.
As a general rule, it’s best not to modify anything unless you are certain it requires translation and you know what type of information the field contains.
That said, since you’ve made some changes since our last conversation, could you please send me the URLs along with screenshots? This will help me see exactly what I should check and where the translation is still failing.
