This thread is resolved. Here is a description of the problem and solution.

Problem:
The client has a website originally in English, translated to Dutch using WPML. After making layout changes in the Dutch version, these changes are not reflected in the English version. The issues include old images showing and SVGs not being copied across versions.
Solution:
The problem was that some settings in the combination with ACF and the Kadence theme were not adjusted properly. For more details please read the documentation about translation preference for ACF custom fields.

If this solution seems outdated or not applicable to your case, we highly recommend checking related known issues at https://wpml.org/known-issues/, verifying the version of the permanent fix, and confirming that you have installed the latest versions of themes and plugins. Background of the issue:
I have an English website which I have translated to Dutch using WPML. I made the translation and afterwards made edits and changes to the layout of the website. However, these changes are not visible in the English version. Link to a page where the issue can be seen: hidden link

Symptoms:
The English version of the website is showing old images and SVGs are not copied. Refreshing the caching does not work.

Questions:
Why are the changes not visible in the English version after translation?
How can I ensure that the layout changes are reflected in both language versions?

The problem was with some settings that I made with the combination of ACF and the Kadence theme.
