Background of the issue:
I want to set up a different domain per language using WPML. My main domain is hidden link and the other domain is hidden link. I followed the official documentation to set it up and updated the DNS by adding a web alias to the stiligtdesign.dk domain.

Symptoms:
After DNS propagation, the site is showing the content of hidden link, but it's not translating.

Questions:
What have I done wrong in setting up different domains per language?
Is there anything else you need from my side to resolve this issue?

Hi there.

If the other domain, when loaded, shows the content from the main domain, that might be a good sign that the secondary domain settings were correctly done.

Did you then add the domain inside WPML > Languages > and change the URL format to "domain per language"?

Also, did you clear any existing local/server caching/CDN?

Can you also confirm that all the content has been translated already and that, if you would use a different format ("directory per language" for example), the translated content would show correctly?

Please let me know.

Hi there.

I wouldn't expect an iframe there - I would instead expect to see the same content structure.

My recommendation would be to check with the hosting support team (or with the support department of the company from where you bought the secondary domain) so that they can check our documentation (https://wpml.org/documentation/getting-started-guide/language-setup/language-url-options/how-to-use-wpml-with-different-domains-per-language/) and make sure that everything is correctly done. If that's not possible, I would recommend a developer.

In situations like this, due to privacy reasons, we are not allowed to touch customers' hosting panels or domain panels, so there is not much that we can do outside of doing our best to get great documentation together and try to guide people in the right direction.

There must be something wrong if the translations don't appear correctly when using "domain per language," but it shows up fine when using "directory per language."

Please let me know what you can find out from the support if you can talk to them.

I am looking forward to hearing from you when you have any updates.
