Background of the issue:
I am working on a site under development and want to update the SKUs on my current product list. I have shared a screencast explaining the issue in detail.

Symptoms:
I couldn't find a solution in the documentation.
Questions:
How can I update the SKUs on my current product list?
Just to confirm, are you trying to update the SKU value of the original product and its translations? Please note that SKU is considered a unique identifier.
Do you have another unique identifier for each product that can be used instead?
Also, have you imported the products previously — for example, using WP All Import or any other import tool?
are you trying to update the SKU value of the original product and its translations? -
Thats correct. Basically when i was initially trying to import the products using the import and export tool of wpml, i faced issue when with the translated products, where they didnt upload properly. I contacted supported and they suggested to upload the products without the sku. It worked when i imported without the sku, it worked well.
Now the issue is that the sku's are a vital part of the inventory management, and i need it to be there.
So thats why im requesting your assistance to help me update the sku's without interrupting the products
Thank you for the updates. This requires further checking. We assume you are referring to the following ticket. If not, please share the correct ticket or chat URL (of your previous discussion with us about importing products). This will greatly help us with our internal communication.
We have reviewed your case, and it’s great to know that the products are already connected correctly in both languages using the WPML Export and Import process.
Since the SKUs were not included in the initial import, you can update them via a new import. Most import workflows support updating existing content by matching a unique identifier—ideally the same one used during the original import.
So, please prepare a new import file that includes only the SKU field and the same unique identifier. This will ensure the existing products are matched correctly and updated with the new SKUs in both languages without affecting other data.
Before proceeding, please make a full site backup. Then run the import and check whether the expected results are achieved.
Thank you for the updates. Yes, you can export the products and keep only the ID and SKU columns in the file. After updating the SKUs, you can import the file back. This will only update the SKU of each product.
The SKU is the same for both English and Arabic, so importing the file in the default language (English) is enough, and you can update Arabic translations after that. You don't need to import separately for Arabic unless you are using different SKUs for each language.
Please try it after a full site backup and let us know your feedback.
ok so i will just import the english language products and update the sku's for them. So will the sku's automatically populate for the arabic language or i would need to do it manually. We need to keep in mind that there are over 600 sku's to be added.
Im sorry im not quite sure i understand the message on how to import sku's for arabic products. Are you able to share some sort of a screencase please for better understanding
Thank you for the updates. You can import the Arabic products the same way you import the English products.
Currently, we don’t have a local copy to share a screencast with instructions. Do you have a staging/development site, a clone of the live site, where we can run the tests without affecting your production environment?
Thank you for the updates. However, I had the following error while logging in. Please check.
Error: The password you entered for the username *** is incorrect. Lost your password?
Also, could you please share the import file you are using for further investigation? You can upload it to Google Drive and share the link. I have enabled the private option for your next reply.
