Background of the issue:
I am working on a site under development and trying to resolve an issue with the WPML plugin related to sorting images in a gallery. The problem is similar to one reported here: https://wpml.org/forums/topic/issue-with-acf-gallery-images-order-not-syncing-correctly-in-english-translation/. The gallery can be sorted with drag and drop in German, but not in the Italian and English versions.

Symptoms:
When I change the order of images in the gallery on the English and Italian versions of the site, the changes do not save correctly. The order reverts after saving.

Questions:
Why does the image order not save correctly in the English and Italian versions of the gallery?
Is there a known issue with WPML and ACF gallery image order syncing?
How can I ensure the image order changes are saved across all language versions?
