[Resolved] The issue with setting up the mobile version menu.
This thread is resolved. Here is a description of the problem and solution.
Problem: The client is experiencing an issue with the mobile version of their multilingual menu. While the menu displays correctly in English, in Ukrainian and Russian, the hierarchy is incorrect. Sub-items that should appear under 'LEARN AND WORK!' are displayed incorrectly. Adjusting the menu for mobile view corrects the issue, but then distorts the desktop version. Solution: We recommended creating separate menus for the desktop and mobile views to handle the display issues independently. Additionally, for the Ukrainian language, we corrected the menu structure by moving two items under the 'LEARN AND WORK!' submenu, which resolved the problem. If you're experiencing similar issues, we suggest trying these steps.
Please note that this solution might be outdated or not applicable to your specific case. We encountered a problem while setting up the menu in the mobile version. The menu displays correctly in the English version, here's a screenshot: hidden link. But in Ukrainian and Russian languages, it's displaying incorrectly: hidden link
The menu is functional, but there's an issue with the hierarchy. The menu should have the following items:
HOME (Головна)
TPMF (TPMF)
DOMAINS (ДОМЕНИ)
LEARNING (НАВЧАННЯ)
LEARN AND WORK! (ВЧИСЯ ТА ПРАЦЮЙ!)
In the mobile version, the sub-items "Каталог учасників" and "Додаток" are displayed (which should be sub-items of "ВЧИСЯ ТА ПРАЦЮЙ!"). hidden link
When we correctly place a submenu in the mobile version, the mobile version is corrected, but the desktop version becomes distorted, and vice versa.
WPLMS support responded that this is an error due to the language menu item. hidden link
Thank you for contacting WPML support, I’m happy to help you with this issue.
When we correctly place a submenu in the mobile version, the mobile version is corrected, but the desktop version becomes distorted, and vice versa.
I suggest you create separate menus for the desktop and mobile views and see if it helps.
If it does not help, I would like to request temporary access (wp-admin and FTP) to your site to take a better look at the issue. It would be better to have a testing site where the issue is replicated. Your next reply is set to private to share the info.
❌ IMPORTANT: Please backup your database and website before proceeding ❌
You can use this plugin to create the backup: https://wordpress.org/plugins/duplicator/
✙ I would need your permission to de-activate and re-activate Plugins and the Theme to change configurations on the site if needed. This is also a reason the backup is critical.
The student user isn't an administrator, I cannot access the admin area, just log in to see the frontend dashboard. Please upgrade the user to the administrator role then let me know.
In the Russian language, the menu mobile works properly. In the Ukrainian language, it doesn't work because the menu structure isn't correct. I move two menu items to the submenu of the item "Вчися та працюй!" then it works. Please see the attached screenshots.
Thank you for your help; we managed to resolve this issue.
