This thread is resolved. Here is a description of the problem and solution.

Problem:
The client is trying to translate the string "Sign up" in the buddyboss-theme domain but cannot find it in the WPML String Translation panel.

Solution:
1) We recommend checking the WPML>>String Translation section and clicking on the Translate texts in admin screens » link at the bottom of the page. Search for the missing string in the Admin Texts Translation screen to see if it's listed and add it for translation if found.

2) If the string is still not available for translation, we suggest making a site backup and then enabling the Look for strings while pages are rendered option in the Auto register strings for translation section at the bottom of the WPML>>String Translation page. Afterward, visit the frontend pages to see if the issue persists. This option will automatically disable after a few hours but can help identify the problem in similar cases.

Additionally, we advise increasing the MaxInputVars of PHP settings to 10000 for better site performance. For more details on how to do this, please consult the following article: Setting the MaxInputVars directive in an .htaccess file.

For further guidance, refer to our documentation:

Hello,

Welcome to the WPML support forum. I will do my best to help you to resolve the issue.

This may be a compatibility issue. Please try the following steps and let us know your feedback.

1) In some cases, it is possible that those strings have been recognized but not associated yet with the String Translation panel for the translation. Please visit WPML>>String Translation and click on the *Translate texts in admin screens »* link at the bottom of the page.

Then search for the missing strings in the *Admin Texts Translation* screen and check whether it is listed or not. If so, please add it for translation and translate it.

2) If the bug remains, visit WPML>>String Translation after a site backup and enable the *Look for strings while pages are rendered* option of *Auto register strings for translation* section(on the bottom of the screen). Then visit the frontend pages and check whether the issue exists or not. This option will be disabled in a couple of hours automatically. But will help us to track the issue in similar cases.

Please refer to the following doc for more details.

https://wpml.org/documentation/getting-started-guide/string-translation/finding-strings-that-dont-appear-on-the-string-translation-page/#strings-arent-selected-for-translation

https://wpml.org/documentation/getting-started-guide/string-translation/finding-strings-that-dont-appear-on-the-string-translation-page/#enable-auto-register-strings

Also, increase the *MaxInputVars* of PHP settings to *10000* for better performance of the site. Please check the following article for more details and contact your system admin/hosting provider to upgrade this configuration.

Hi Bigul!

I ended up doing #2 which exposed the field. Then I also did a "rescan" of the Theme and that found new strings, so for whatever reason, it appears that the initial them scan didn't grab everything!

Either way, I am all set, so thank you for your help along the way!

Thanks, Bigul!
