Problem:
You are experiencing a 404 error when trying to access archive pages, specifically the product category pages on your website.
Solution:
We recommend trying the workaround provided in our errata. Please visit the following link to resolve the issue with product category links not using translated slugs: https://wpml.org/errata/product-category-links-do-not-use-translated-slugs/

If this solution does not apply to your case, or if it seems outdated, we highly recommend checking related known issues at https://wpml.org/known-issues/, verifying the version of the permanent fix, and confirming that you have installed the latest versions of themes and plugins. Thanks for reaching out to us.

While you wait for my colleague to take over the ticket, let me try to help you with the issue quickly.

Please make sure there are existing translated product for that category, otherwise archive will not exist and WP will show 404 error.

If the issue is happening in your default language I would advise disabling WPML plugin, make sure to have a backup, to confirm if the issue is related to WPML at all.

Hi, yes it happens on the default language.

when I deactivate wpml, it works fine again. but when activating wpml I get 404s
